"Beautiful property. Food was excellent. Enjoyed a nice hike on the property to see the spot where Mary Queen of Scots surrendered herself to the English lords. The decor is beautiful inside. We only stayed one night but enjoyed the experience. Wait staff was inexperienced during our visit but that was a minor issue."

"Hour and half had to wait for check in no excuse. Wasn't the room I booked . No signs up to say we're rest rooms were .no bathrobes. No apologise nothing . Castle its self is very nice . Wouldn't go back .even on check out. Its like give the key back and go . No have a day thank you for your stay."

"The property is situated near North Berwick and has beautiful gardens. The building itself is a bit tired. Our room was disappointing for the grade of hotel. Coffee facilities were basis (one packet of two pieces of shortbread to share!). The cooked breakfast was lovely but the continental selection was very poor compared to similar hotels and given that one of the main selling points of the hotel is the Chez Roux restaurant. Cleanliness not what we would have expected either - some litter...

"The staff were awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel special. The location was more than amazing. A one minute walk to the Royal Mile with all the sights, history and pubs and restaurants. The vibe was spot on for Old Town Edinburgh. Would never stay anywhere else when we return to Edinburgh!"

"Hotel is located in a very nice area of Edinburgh, however there is nothing walking distance around it. Which isn't the hotels fault, but something to keep in mind. Hotel and rooms are dates, no sense of urgency with customer care. Example, needed a new key and was asked why I needed it, after explaining why the front desk lady said it will be a minute as she's posting charges. Check the bed(s), mine had a spring popping through the material and could have cut me while sleeping."

"Great quirky studio apartment! Comfortable bed, great room overall! Very modern design which we appreciated, even just little things like lights under the bed so when you get up in the middle of night it lights your way to the stairs!
Staff were really helpful and welcoming.
Even in the middle of the city the hotel room felt quiet and tucked away.
Easy 10/15 minute walk to main areas / shops and restaurants.
Would stay here again!"

"Nous avions une chambre avec un divan-lit et un lit double. Le divan-lit était abominable. Le grillage sur lequel le matelas est déposé était complètement brisé.
Nous sommes allés deux fois à la réception car nous avions un problème avec la douche, les deux fois nous nous sommes fait dire qu’un technicien passerait bientôt à la chambre, personne n’est venu."
