"I had a great time staying at this hostel! The rooms were spacious and the everything was clean. The style of the building is a classic Thai style, which I really liked. A lot of hostels "provide breakfast" but only give you toast or something super basic. At Oldtel, a full breakfast was provided that really filled you up. The owners were super kind and full of great advice (one of them used to be a tour guide.) They really do everything they can to make you feel at home."

"Family run hotel with a kind owner. Located on the main road, therefore it was very laut day and night. Especially the condtruction next to the hotel. The mattress was a bit hard, my back was hurt the next morning. The shower water was not warm"

"Very nice property if you want to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle, but if you plan to visit the city, it is a bit far off from the tourist areas. Also, there is very limited dining options in the evening in the immediate vicinity, and not everyone would be comfortable walking in this area after sunset. That being said, the property is beautiful, the rooms clean, and the staff/owners were very friendly and helpful."

"Great little guest house, nice and quiet but only a few minutes' walk from the town. 3 options for breakfast, with eggs, toast, fruit, juice, and self-serve instant coffee, etc, so good to start the day in the pleasant communal area. Had a twin-bed room, perfectly adequate, with bathroom, mosquito screens, wall-mounted fan. Beds a bit hard for my liking, may not be a problem for others. Overall, more than served our purpose, thanks!"

"The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean however there was some mold in the bathroom. The shower is a little weird as it was like warm mist. Got everything wet in the bathroom....probably why there was mold. "

"We only stayed for one night so did not experience everything this place had to offer. The room was nice although the bathroom could do with a little maintenance as it appeared worn. Good walking distance into town and only a 10-20 minute taxi to the Blue and White Temples. The Goddess of Mercy is also a must-do whilst in Chiang Rai!"

"Wonderful property on the outskirts of town. Town not walkable but they did have bikes for rent. Closest restaurants were a bit of a walk but the food at the Homestay was quite good."

"Property close to centre and a nice quiet base. Owner is very friendly and makes awesome north thai sausages. Rooms are ok if you like a hard matress. Walls are dressed concrete, ie a bit austere but doesnt detract at all."

First, there was nobody onsite when I checked in, and I only took the room key from the unlocked mailbox. Second, the guard at the gate prevented me from entering into the carpark. I later knew the reason why. The Management Office told me that the property owner had not paid the common service fees for over 6 months. Third, the room was not clean and no cleaning service at all throughout my 3-night...
