The location of this hotel is ideal for exploring the old part of Ovideo, as well as other gastronomic areas. It's a 2 minute walk to the Parque de San Francisco, which is a lovely way to spend the morning. The lobby is great for having a drink before exploring the city center.

My husband and I have stayed in another Eurostars Hotel (in Berlin), which we quite liked, but the one in Oviedo, in a historic hospital building, is really quite superb. From the gracious and dignified architecture to the spacious room (with a sofa!) to the wonderful breakfast, we enjoyed our nights there very much.

The Hotel de la Reconquista is undeniably beautiful. Its historic architecture and regal atmosphere give the impression of a luxurious five-star experience. Unfortunately, once you start noticing the details, the charm quickly fades. Stained carpets, a musty, almost moldy smell, and an overall lack of cleanliness and maintenance make the property feel neglected. A special mention to Andrea, who was absolutely wonderful, kind, attentive, and incredibly accommodating in helping us change rooms. Sadly, while the hotel looks like a five-star property, the actual experience feels closer to a two-star stay. Such a shame, because the building itself has incredible potential. Luxury isn’t just about grand architecture; it’s about the details, upkeep, and overall guest experience.

Superb hotel

La Reconquista is a superb hotel and everyone was most helpful. Excellent breakfast buffet. A great base for seeing Oviedo and the surrounding countryside which is beautiful.
