"Our first visit to the property for a number of years. We use to stay here quite frequently under the Laura Ashley umbrella. We were very lucky to be upgraded prior to our visit, I received a call a couple of days before our visit. However, we were told about the ground works to the garden over looking Lake Windermere. The check isn’t wasn’t the best, computer screen in the way of the receptionist, management tell staffing to stop cleaning the hotel lobby. The bar has been rebranded, we decided to opt to visit a local bar/pub instead of having a drink in the hotel. The room was very warm, but had a comfy bed and a large Tv. It was disappointing to see the ground works from our lake view room. I’m a little surprised this wasn’t mentioned on the call prior to our visit or on check in. There was a selection of hot breakfast options, pastries, cereal with a pre made coffee urn or a coffee machine. Which felt a little back of house. We use to quite enjoy the breakfast menu offered to order from our previous stays. All in all, I was a bit taken away from what is such a special hotel for myself and wife. Hopefully the new management company will keep pushing the property forward but it’s definitely lost some of its charm from the Laura Ashley Belsfield we know and loved."

"Unbelievable apartment!!! What a find, from the moment I found The Rockefeller on Expedia to arrival through to the end of the stay everything was the best!! Not going to gointo much detail as wouldn’t want to ruin anybody else’s experience but I will say you won’t be disappointed, everything about the apartment is funky, design led and luxurious from the furnishings to the artwork and even the kitchen and bathroom are of the highest spec. Centrally located with ample parking pretty much opposite and within a few minutes walk of the lake the apartment met and exceeded every expectation. As a little bonus just 50 yards away you’ll find a cafe, the Urban Food House, serving the best breakfast and coffees in the area, another great find. Should the owner ever decide to enter “4 in a bed” the competition will have a job on its hands to even come close to the Rockefeller. Last few words, book it, book it, book it, you’ll have the best time!!!!"

"Lovely clean kings size room with own patio to sit and enjoy the sun. There’s about 4 different areas to park at . Staff very helpful and with a smile when serving also a bar and lounge to sit, we didn’t use it but it’s there"

"The guest house was in a great location. Parking isn’t great as one space can’t be utilised due to the garage and only one car looked like it could get in due to the spaces in front. The room itself was very clean and nicely decorated, as was the bathroom. We never seen any staff around. We got stocked up of tea and coffee but they left the dirty mugs which I would have expected clean ones. The bin was also emptied but our empty pizza boxes were left under the bin where I put them hoping they would be taken away. I also thought clean towels each day would have been nice."

"The room was lovely, very clean with a view over the town towards the lake and mountains. The staff were very helpful, I needed two singles not a double and they immediately sorted this. Breakfast was very good ....and generous. The hotel is in an excellent position for the town and lake and has the bonus of parking."
