  • The afternoon sunlight filtering through the lush green of the trees on this bridge leading to Amanoyasugawara Shrine was a sight to behold. I've always loved the more quieter trails that lets you appreciate nature. The sounds of birds and insects combined with the steady susurrus of the stream makes the entire walk even more magical. The aforementioned shrine is a simple shrine inside a large cave believed to be where the gods and goddesses met to discuss their strategy of luring the goddess Amaterasu from her hiding place and bring back light into the world. Protip: At the start of the trail leading to the shrine, right beside the main road, is a shop that sells souvenirs and these amazing sandwiches with local beef and chicken products in it that taste absolutely delicious. That, and their mushroom tea is a must try.

Amazing service and great facilities. We were lucky to be the only two in the house so it might get a little squishy when its full. Works great as a platform on the way to Takachiho Gorge from the Usuki ferry at night.

滞在が私だけだったので、誰にも気兼ねなく過ごすことができた。持ち込んだ食事を少し放置しておいたら、どこからともなく蟻がわいてきて、慌ててゴミを室外に出した。暑さが苦手だったので、空調が効いていない食堂ではなく、自室で食事をしたのがまずかったのかもしれないが、畳を這う蟻の行列を見てしまうと、体中がモゾモゾするようで、落ち着かなかった。

オーナーは気さくな方で良かった。施設も必要十分でした。ただお風呂が残念でした。オーナーも気にはされて様ですが場所が分かりにくく、周りに目印になる物もなく、お店が遠かったので買い出しに行った時も迷ってしまった。道路から目印や案内があると良いと思う
