Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo - Shiodome

Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo - Shiodome

10/10 Excellent
"Breakfast was worthy of adding to our stay! It had little selection but the right kind of things that anyone can find something to eat. It is the same kind every morning which I thought was ok. The only issue i had was the laundry. They are two every other floor for the whole hotel having 10 floors and lots of rooms per floor i thought was a little inconvenient. It would have been nice to have it on every floor and people only on that floor to have access maybe, just a thought. Laundry rooms have detergent and somewhat dries the clothes after you do a second time just drying and removing some of the clothes too. Plan to have 2/3 hours for laundry if one available or just bring extra clothes if you do not want to do laundry."

"We used swimming pools that were not busy and free to use floating items. Staffs were very helpful to us in self-check in systems. Room was good and well cleaned, but our next room was loudly until midnight. We needed to be lined up for breakfast about 15 min. Buffet style breakfast had a lot of variety, it was difficult to choose but taste was great. Overall, it was great stay there."

Tokyo Bay Shiomi Prince Hotel

Tokyo Bay Shiomi Prince Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay here. The room was impressively large by Tokyo standards—we could easily open two big suitcases with room to spare. Everything was spotlessly clean and had a modern, stylish feel. The location worked perfectly for us. It's just a 2-minute walk to JR Shiomi Station. Tokyo Station is also just 3 stops away, which made day trips really convenient. We also loved winding down at the large public bath after long days of walking. Staff were friendly and helpful, and having a Family Mart right downstairs was super handy for late-night snacks. Overall, it exceeded our expectations, especially for the price. Would definitely stay here again."

"Overall good, a tiny blood was found on my blanket on the first night, which made me uncomfortable, but was midnight when I checked in so didn’t bother to request changes."

Find out more about Odaiba

About Odaiba

Odaiba is a manmade island in Tokyo Bay that provides the twin bonuses of multiple attractions and access to a beach and waterside views. The island was originally built in the 1850s to protect Tokyo from invading armies and as such most of its delights are modern. It has a science museum, fairground attractions, diverse shopping venues and an exciting nightclub.

Don’t Miss

The Odaiba experience begins with the journey across Tokyo Bay via the Rainbow Bridge. This is especially colourful at night when the bright lights of Tokyo provide the backdrop. Travellers have a choice of taxi or Yurikamome driverless trains. Besides plush new buildings, one of the first sights for arriving visitors is a copy of New York’s iconic Statue of Liberty.

Venus Fort is the flagship of the shopping centres at Odaiba and is themed on 500-year-old European villages, but with everything 21st century shoppers require. Miraikan Science Museum is an interactive and educational establishment and one of Odaiba’s unmissable sites. Other museums include the Maritime Museum and the Trick Art Museum.

Tokyo Leisureland is a fun facility offering tenpin bowling, karaoke lounges and the latest in video gaming technology. Toritsu Shiokaze Park boasts footpaths shaded by trees, a waterfront walkway and a beach. Swimming is not allowed in Tokyo Bay, but several hotels on the island have onsite pools. Odaiba features a 100-metre high big-wheel. The view from the top is awesome.

Restaurants and Bars

Odaiba is one of the best places in Tokyo to enjoy a meal or a night out. Diners are able to sample Japanese dishes such as sushi and shabu-shabu plus food from Thailand, India, France and Italy to name a few. There are a number of bars serving Japanese beers as well as the Zepp DiverCity concert hall and nightclub.

Shopping

Shopping at Odaiba is heaven. Venus Fort and Aqua City are the two main shopping locations. Venus Fort is upmarket and has a collection of retail outlets selling everything from jewellery and makeup to top-name electrical and IT devices. A Toys'R'Us is among Aqua City’s many delights. Decks Tokyo Beach is noted for its souvenirs, gift items and second-hand clothing.
