"Even though the staff was very polite and service oriented the building was old, the showers and bathrooms were community showers and bathrooms in each floor. In the shower the handles had mold. When anyone in the building open a faucet, flushed the toilet or showered you could hear it in the dinning room area located in the basement. "We booked in January and it for late May to accompany our daughter during Prom Weekend. We booked the VIP room with 2 Queen sized beds- shower and jacuzzi. It was overlooking the boardwalk and beach on the top floor- and spacious. That is what I expected. First they put us in the wrong room- one below with only one bed. When I went to the office to ask why they said they gave it to someone else. No explanation. After I showed them my receipt for the room I paid for with the details- they put us in another room with two beds. It was cramped, overlooking the pool, and there was definitely a price difference. I did not get the room I paid for. I was not compensated for the price difference. Consequently I knew the people who had gotten the room- they booked it 2 days AFTER I had after I told them that is where I was staying. Overall the location on the boardwalk was what I wanted- but I am disappointed in how they gave the room away and didn't offer to refund me the difference between the rooms. The positives were the free parking a block away, and the location on the boardwalk was great. The pool looked great but it was 64 degrees out and too cold to swim."

"We had the best stay at The Lillagaard! We were only there for one night but wish we stayed longer. From the very start, the owner, Suzanne, was beyond accommodating. She called to see when I would be checking in and when I told her I was going to be in town earlier than expected she offered an early check in since the room was ready. The property has a stunning view of the ocean and plenty of porch seating on various levels to take it in. The house is full of charm and everything was very clean. The room was comfortable and charming. It was a little chilly later in the day and before I could even ask, Suzanne, brought an extra blanket to the room. The hot breakfast was more than we expected and I loved that we could customize our order. You cannot find a friendly or more accommodating staff. Overall amazing experience and if you are looking for a place to relax and unwind at the beach, then I could not recommend this place enough! We can’t wait to visit again!"

"We love the convenience of being close to beach and town and also Asbury Park. The place is very clean, well maintained and rooms are cozy. The staff are friendly and helpful and we love the breakfast. The bathroom was spotless , nice towels and bed linens spotless. Room smelled good and clean. We’ve stayed here many times 🌊☀️🏖️🐚⛱️⛱️⛱️"

"Everything from hotel staff, to amenities to location was phenomenal. My husband and I celebrated my birthday weekend here and it was a beautiful and relaxing weekend. The building is split between the hotel and residences. The floor for all hotel amenities and rooms is the 4th floor. Here is where the indoor bar, lounge, and outdoor pool and bar area is located. The hotel is kept very clean with lots of attentive staff! The outdoor patio and pool area was absolutely beautiful with lots of room for lunch, and a variety of comfy lounging options. The hotel embraced modern coastal vibes and had lots of live music options in the lounge area and at the outdoor patio. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bed was incredibly comfortable! There were lots of in-room amenities provided including hair dryer, espresso machine, safe, fridge, desk, slippers/robe, shampoo/conditioner/lotion, etc. if you needed a steamer or iron and ironing board, just call the front desk. We had a partial ocean view on the south side of the building and that was beautiful. We had a view of the Stone Pony and was able to sit out on the balcony for the outdoor concerts to listen to the music. The north side of the building faces a large construction zone - I would ask to NOT be on that side of the building. Locations— the hotel was located just across the street from the boardwalk and ocean. Also, within walking distance to great restaurants. Downtown area is about a 20 minute walk."
