"The staff were very welcoming and helpful on arrival. The room was comfortable, clean and we slept very well. "All excellent"

"Hotel was very good, but a little out in the sticks. The food was typical pub grub, but well cooked on the premises. No other pubs, shops or restaurants in the village and there are very few restaurants in the nearest town Bishop Auckland."

"Friendly welcome, super breakfast and excellent location"

"This is a mixed review. From the pictures given on expedia you are expecting a large hotel. It is not, it is a terraced house with multiple rooms in a run down area but having said that, the host was lovely, the property although needs work, is clean and tidy and very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the tea/coffee and biscuits were a very nice addition. It has a large smart TV which has a great reception. I was pleasantly surprised"

"Second visit to this guest house, everything to a high standard with the benefit of great outdoor space and views"

"Fabulous staff, beautiful food, fantastic room. Top notch in every way! Can't wait to return ❤️"
