Was a little unsure about the shared bathrooms at first but they were actually really clean. My room was clean too and the staff were always nice whenever I had a question. Nothing fancy, just a good place to stay in the city.

The location was honestly perfect for my trip. So many restaurants and little shops nearby, and I could walk to Soho and Little Italy in just a few minutes. Subway is super close too. Made getting around New York really easy.

The staff was extremely helpful from the beginning to the end of my stay. Common areas were cozy and clean. They even let me store my bags for several hours on my checkout day while waiting on my late flight.

For the price, it's really hard to complain, especially in Manhattan. The room was small but comfortable and had everything I needed. Loved having free coffee and snacks, it's a small thing but definitely appreciated. Would stay here again.

It's definitely a "you get what you pay for" budget hotel. But the staff were excellent and it's in a fun location with lots of good eats and atmosphere.

Really enjoyed my stay here! I was only there for one night, but everything was great. The place was clean and quiet, and I slept really well. They also had free coffee, water, and some snacks, which was nice. The staff were super friendly and helpful too. Honestly, it was better than I expected. I’d definitely stay here again!

Stayed there for one night. It was really clean , and quiet too. I had a good rest. They also provide earplugs , and have a small area with coffee, snacks, water , and its all free. People at the reception were super nice , and always there to help. Overall , it was better than i expected , and definitely will stay there again!

I loved having my own space. the fact that it was open ceiling also added to its charm, and i felt safe and cozy. The staff was the nicest! I had Audrey and Grisele and they were so helpful, genuine, and amazing. Overall great staff and property, and I wish them all the best!

The rooms were clean as were the facilities. Definitely felt safe with all of the locks and things protecting it from outside. A little loud with the ceilings but to be expected. Overall a good choice for solo quick travel or if you are young and looking for something to save money.

You will hear every noise in the hotel (I had a Russian man with sleep apnea in the room next to me). You also have no control of the AC. This is a hostel, not a hotel.

Staff were very nice, helpful, and friendly. The room was small but clean. Bed and comforter were comfortable. I felt the place is safe. However, the room has an open ceiling, like office cubicles. Everybody can hear your noise. Hope I didn’t snore. Additionally, the hotel is located not so clean area where streets are well-littered. Considering the price, this is a good option. However, if I could stretch my budget, I would probably stay in different hotels.

The place was clean, stuff very friendly. However on arrival I had to wait outside for about 15 minutes, their bell was broken and nobody was answering the phone. They do have some rooms that walls made all the way up to the ceiling, and those probably better, The Main area with open ceiling gives you no rest time. If you sensitive sleeper, definitely choose something else. You will hear everything, like people eat snacks, rolling over, and snoring all night long is the worst part. Location is very convenient with public transportation access. I cannot really complain, because all noises that was around me was nothing stuff could fix. If you are not sensitive sleeper this place is for you.

Great Experience at the CityNest New York, staff was extremely kind and helpful throughout my stay. Slept well here, highlight is Definetly the bed super comfortable. Location is perfect you had reach any point of New York, price to quality for New York is unbeatable

Cubicles with open tops covered by grating. Not light and airy as the photos would suggest. Few have windows. The bedspread smelled unwashed- like body odor. A man in another cubicle was moaning and groaning and inhaling something through a balloon repeatedly. So bizarre and creepy. I could also smell candles burning, which is terrifying considering how confusing the place was to navigate. On the upside, the person manning the front desk was helpful and tried to get a better room for me, but even though it was larger, it was still just a larger cubicle with no windows. Might work for some who only need a bed, but if you like to relax for any length of time, this is not the place.

Awful experience at this hotel. unfortunately the photos look better than what the room actually is. The bed was comfortable, but the ceiling literally looked like I was inside a cage. it did advertise open ceiling, but damn. I didn't think it was literally OPEN. The person next to me was snoring so loudly that I only got 3 hours of sleep the night I was there. I could hear people farting out loud, doors slamming early in the morning and late in the night. These people are not following the quiet hours at all. Also the man's snoring was so bad that I heard someone ask to be switched rooms. It was brutal. PLEASE spend the extra money to get a room that actually is closed off where you can't hear anything. I fear I will never be going back here-

Though the staff are individually great people, you can tell they are overworked; for example, the receptionist who was supposed to check me in left the premises to check in someone at another property of theirs, leaving me and another guest high and dry until the hotel's manager took over. Not a great look. The front door on the street has numerous (4 when I stayed) stop-work orders from the city for their construction activities. Again, not a good look. The room itself was very small even for NYC standards (only a bed plus 10 square feet or so) and had no private bathrooms; some other rooms do but surely can't be big either. The worst part is the rooms are more like cubicles than rooms, with an opening ceiling. This means noise and light from neighbors disturbs you, and HVAC is entirely communal with no option to change just your room's temperature. One of the bathrooms also has a threshold that is a tripping hazard. The lounge, being only a story above the streets of Chinatown, is very noisy. Overall, sleeping here was difficult, and it was a game of Tetris to keep my things organized in that tight space. Overall, unless you have no other choice, I cannot recommend this place.
