"The Sheraton is in an excellent location, only three blocks to Carnegie Hall, easy walking to theaters and Times Square, as well as Central Park. However, As mentioned in their blurb, check in is crazy busy, slow and understaffed. In fact staff are not that friendly, except for the awesome cleaning staff. And to mention now, the elevators are confusing to use, because the staff did not explain how to use them. We observed many guest having to help other guests to find their floor…thank goodness for the help of others. Now if you happen to bring back left overs from their restaurants…good luck in finding the “Goodwill” donated microwave that is supposed to be located on only a select few floors where even staff are not up to date on which floor that might be. Once found, it’s merely at the elevator area of the chosen floor, and good luck if you are on an upper floor, as you have to descend, with the steaming hot food, back to the lobby where you have to re enter your floor from the master control panel, inconvenient to say the least, and totally lowers the status of a higher end hotel experience.
Also inconvenient, insulting, rude and embarrassing is if you have already checked out and are waiting for transportation, heaven forbid you need to use the toilet facilities, you’ll need your room key for that! I was fortunate to have a very kind and helpful baggage storage attendant to walk me down and open the door for me. Others, weren’t so lucky. Yet, the beds were super comfy!"
