"One of the two elevators was out of service for the two nights we were there - an issue when there are 15 floors. Front staff are friendly and helpful - put some ice packs in a freezer which we needed for spouse’s meds. The hotel is dated / spartan. Surrounding areas have homeless and little to do despite being near the old town. Not the hotel’s fault, but this part of Nanaimo is rather boring - especially on Monday and Tuesdays when most of the stores are closed."
