"An excellent Ryokan with lovely staff. We felt very well cared for. Thank you very much for your hospitality. The breakfast is spectacular. As advised by the owners, this is a very very traditional old house (it’s the whole point of the experience), so one should not expect hotel things like black out blinds, or soundproofing."

"Very good location, just 5-minute walk to Old town. Super nice and great service-minded staff, especially Ms. Eriko, the landlady. All needed amenities are provided. We enjoy delicious food with pleasant food decoration. Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan is the only place we will stay every time we visit Takayama."

"Near Takayama station. Quiet surroundings"

"price is expensive, and booking for 3 persons but the hotel received booking for 2 persons, will pay extra at the hotel"

"Warmth and wellness ,clean place ,nice view ,good view from room"

"Very good location and easy to travel around. Hotel staffs super kind, room very clean, hot shower very good. Recommend !"

"Good service "
