I wanted to rate this hotel higher, but I can’t. The positives. Warm engaging staff, wonderful common areas and bar. Great location, close to Octoberfest grounds and the Hauptbahnhof. So why wasn’t it rated higher? The room. Very small, with largely ineffective heating and AC. Combined with the down comforter and uncomfortable bed, I found it difficult to sleep well.The tiny bath made the overall function of the room lacking. Would I stay there again? Not if I had other options.

This was my second stay at the IBIS on the Arnulfstraße, and I was disappointed. Due to surgery, I was in a room for the handicapped, which was large, quiet, and comfortable UNTIL the fire alarm started beeping. Of course, it was night, and it awoke me. I tried to call the front desk to see if I should evacuate. Their number was NOT displayed, and I had to hunt for it. It was in a pamphlet. Imagine being awakened by the alarm and having to search for the number. Dialing Zero did not work! I finally got someone on the line, who instructed me to push the red and green buttons on the main light switch at the same time. That stopped the beeping. Now I had two red strobe lights flashing, one next to my head above the bed and the other on the wall next to the door. This went on for three nights, although I reported the issue each night and each morning. Come on, folks! This is absolutely unacceptable. They did comp breakfast the day I left. Next stay will be at the neighboring Nova Hotel.

Very good hotel, it is located in front of a tram station. It is like 10-15 walk to get to the main station. There are some bars nearby.

The room was small but it had all we needed to lay our heads and shower after a few days of touring around Munich and going to Oktoberfest. The Tram is only a block up the street offering convenience to the train station and other parts of the city. It as also only 2 stops away from Oktoberfest. The room was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful our whole stay.

Perfect for a short stay in Munich, it is my second time here and everything is as expected. Breakfast quality is good. The tram nearby was not working but it is close enough to the s bahn station.
