LOGIS HOTEL LE RABELAIS

10/10 Excellent

"Good hotel in the middle of town but needs a few bits of maintenance (e.g. leaking shower doors) and a few more members of staff. The restaurant was good with reasonbably priced meals although the chef needs to tone down the use of olive oil on the fish dish as it was swimming in it, and also learn the difference between saignant and bien cuit as my saignant steak was almost trop cuit! The main issue was the breakfast as a party of 40 Dutch tourists decended on the restaurant before checking out at 0900. When the few other guests arrived there were no clean tables and no food left. Understandable but what was incredible was that the young wonan in charge of breakfast was on heer own and overwhelmed. To her credit, once I'd alerted the lone receptionist to this she came and pitched in, as did the guests, setting tables etc. but that was areal failur of management. Why 5* then? Because it has potential and was perfect for our overnight stay with secure parking and (eventually) a great breakfast. If i'd been there for a week I'd probably have dropped it a star or two."

"The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff both welcoming and helpful. The location is excellent with vast grounds a swimming pool and extensive outside terraces. Dinner was good (perhaps not Michelin standard) and a good selection at breakfast. Bedroom was of a good size and excellent bathroom facilities all in good condition and very clean, efficient and quiet air-conditioning if required. The windows offer pleasant views across the estate and countryside though they are very high up so small children would not be able to see out. Easy parking directly in front of the building and good access to the room. All in all can thoroughly recommend."

"Everything was perfect during our stay at La Libaudiere. The property is peaceful and quiet, in a rural area. The owners are very helpful and friendly. We rented the 'cabane perchee' and it was a great experience, a comfortable place in a big tree. It was very relaxing to stay a few nights there, breakfast was good too. Thank you to the owners for creating a great place like this one."

"Les îles de Clovis font partie de la cité nocturne, c’est le 2ème hôtel le plus proche de l’entrée du puy du fou après la villa gallo-romaine. Les chambres familiales sont confortables et reflètent le thème “gaulois”. Elles sont construites sur pilotis sur des marais qui sont peuplés de carpes qui mangent les larves de moustiques donc pas de problème de ce côté là. Par contre pas de climatisation, donc en période de canicules et fortes chaleurs, le conseil est d’ouvrir les fenêtres opposées pour créer un courant d’air. Le personnel est très attentif. Le restaurant est en buffet avec un choix varié dont des produits locaux de bonne qualité."
