Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort

Beware!

We booked that place for one night. After a while the host wrote to us not to come and that there were no room available. Under such circumstances I asked the host to cancel my reservation in order I could book another place. But the host refused to do that! So, I wonder if the host is a fraudster or simply irresponsible person, who doesn’t update calendar.

Disappointing situation

Unfortunately we had a negative experience here. The good bits about the place are that it's very clean and comfy and the host replies to you straight away when you arrange check in. The negative for us was that we wanted to extend our stay by one night so I checked to see if it was available online and it was. Because we had met and chatted with the host I messaged him before booking online and he told me not to book online that he'd take cash for it but then he quoted a much higher price. So I obviously said no I want the online price which he agreed too. Then four hours later he messaged back saying someone has booked the room and we can't stay anymore. I was extremely unhappy because it meant we had to try and find last minute accommodation and we had to cancel some plans. He didn't block out the night online so it was still available to be booked by other people, when I later checked online after he told me we couldn't stay the price had been increased and booked recently (but after I'd asked to stay). So I guess he wanted the extra money from the new booking but I really wish he'd just been honest from the beginning and said no we can't stay for that price. I felt a bit deceived, and it really mucked up my plans. Honesty from the start would have been better.
