"Stayed for three nights over Xmas. The walk from the pub to the accommodation was across a muddy unpaved carpark. Access to the room was via a combination door lock and privacy in the room afforded by blinds at the door ,room windows. Unfortunately there was no internal lock on the door and gaps in the blinds afforded a view into the room from outside. The room was cold on arrival and took hours to warm up. "The pub was full of life, staff friendly and helpful, room had some nice features. Breakfast good. Friends joined us in the bar and were the last to leave…long suffering staff very pleasant about it! "

"Absolutely stunning property for those who like a bit of history. Host was so accommodating to our needs. Beds were exceptionally comfortable and we felt so relaxed making the most of the roll top bath. Breakfast was top drawer (loved the sausages especially). Nothing to fault. We’re already booked in for next year!"

Dianna and her amazing team even helped out by washing and drying some clothing. Mid way through my work trip it was as a relief to know I had clean business and personal clothing. "We were in one of the refurbished rooms which was vey clean, however there is obviously still some additions that are required in the main areas that look very drab and neglected. The heating in the bedroom was good but the en-suite bathroom had no heating at all and was so cold you didn't want to shower in there, the addition of some form of heating is needed here .A bin in the bathroom and some sort of shelf to put your own bits and pieces on would be useful.A mirror in the bedroom would be...

"Lovely place, comfortable bed, comes with everything you need, fire was ready to use, lovely hosts, heated towel rail, lovely breakfast, amazing area which is very peaceful, would definitely recommend, thank you!"

"The staff were lovely and the food was great. We were upgraded to a superior room, which was wonderful and clean but the room was far too hot because it was next to the main working fireplace of the hotel. We had to have the window open the whole time to cool down, (but didn’t make too much difference in temperature) and then smoke from the chimney came into the room."
