Great stay

Wonderful stay at Mercure Montpellier Centre Comédie. The staff were all very helpful and the accommodations were excellent. Very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Modern rooms were spacious and had everything I needed. Very close walking distance to the city center (took a little bit to get bearings walking to and from, Apple Maps didn't always have the best walking route, but after a bit of exploration it was simple). Would highly recommend.

Recommend this nice hotel, exterior simple but fairly modern rooms, excellent service and staff, also restaurant on site. To access from train station (15 min easy walk) go to Place de la Comedie and then cross Polygone shopping mall on the right - hotel right behind. Hotel near parc and main square full of bistros and terraces.

The location of this hotel is great and the staff very accomodating. However, our room was very hot and although the staff turned off the heat to oyr room, it as still quite warm. We were advised that air conditioning was not available until the following week.

It's a business place so pretty empty at the height of summer. Friendly check-in and I got into the room three hours early so a big thank you for that. Close to all the main attractions, trans stop beside the hotel and a selection of restaurants in the housing development next door. It's a short walk, past the market, to the airport shuttle bus. Happy to recommend this hotel

Location good for the city.

Location was very good for walking the city. Staff very good , a clean comfortable room with good amenities. We stayed in winter time, late February, and not all of the hotel was open. As the restaurant was closed a limited menu was offered in the bar area. The hotel itself is situated off the polygon shopping centre which in places seems a little run down. We missed the hotel parking which is accessed through the polygon parking. No big issue though.

Property is incredibly well-located. The staff was wonderful. It was raining and the hotel had run out of umbrellas. My partner could not get his eye wet due to an operation he had, and the front desk attendant actually went to her car and lent us her personal one. They went out of their way to help us.

The hotel is new so the facilities were clean and updated. The staff were superb. Our issue was that the air conditioner didn’t work. It was motion sensor operated so while sleeping it would turn off and one couldn’t get a good night sleep. We’d have to get up and turn it back on every two hours because it was motion sensor operated and kept turning itself off.

This was a very charming hotel which has gotten complete renovation over the past few years. The room was just adequate for a few day travel. I was impressed with the number of power outlets, which is necessary to charge multiple devices these days. The closet had ample space and a functioning safe. The bathroom was excellent and very clean. I was very concerned when I saw the hotel from the outside since it does not look that appealing (but rather old style), however, the inside is perfect. I would much rather have a less appealing exterior and a more appealing interior than the other way around. The best part of this stay was their breakfast! It does not get much better. They had freshest orange juice and you can even fry your own egg! They had a great selection of items and their croissant are the absolute best.

As one walks from the Gare Saint-Roch, this hotel is nearby but out of sight. It sits near (and behind) the Polygone. The best approach is to leave from the upper floor of the train station through the doors to the north and take the metal footbridge directly onto the street where the tram runs. Cross the street and tram tracks and then follow that sidewalk down the incline bending to the left and then rising slightly back up. The tram tracks will be running along your right as you walk. There is a set of stone stairs that goes up toward a small wooded area in front of the property, but the Mercure sign will be visible at the top of the hotel. Take the stairs up and go around the wooded area (left is probably best) to the front of the hotel. Total walking time is less than 15 minutes.
