"We were made so welcome by Olivier and his son, Hugo. This is not like a 5-star hotel, but our room was spacious and quiet, with good air-conditioning, comfy bed and good shower. The indoor swimming pool is small, but we booked two slots and had it to ourselves. Hugo cooked us a really fine meal - not gourmet in style, but delicious. Olivier went out of his way to find the Arsenal game ‘live’ on French TV for me! A really pleasant stay."

"Hôtel correct, chambre agréable. Salle de bain spacieuse. J'aurai préféré une douche plutôt qu'une baignoire. Très bon petit déjeuner, dommage que à cause d'un "problème technique", je n'ai pas pu prendre mon petit déjeuner le dernier jour."

"Fabulous location, metres from the cathedral's main facade. Really a restaurant (OK) with rooms. Unusually large room; clean, carpetted, tastfully furnished, comfortable bed, plush sofa for the TV (good, with streaming channels). Krupp coffee maker; bottled water, no kettle, fridge, or safe; no a/c, noisy fan. Shower room OK: antique basin tap broken and shower tap kept turning itself off, but hardly mattered. Simple continental breakfast. 4 bookable secure car spaces 200m away, otherwise pay parks a bit further. No chance of dropping bags off at reception. No local EV chargers. Bottom line: prob the best place to stay in Laon."

"We booked this hotel, last minute for a one night stop off on our way home after a few weeks travelling through Europe and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We booked a classic room (cheapest) and it was superb, the AC worked very well in the heat, the room was huge with a seating area, great bathroom and separate toilet. We didn’t use the spa but the pool was quiet and very welcoming after a long drive. The staff all deserve a mention as the service is second to none but the highlight was the evening meal in the restaurant, we had planned to eat on the bistro as we thought the food in the main Michelin guide restaurant would be a bit fancy for us (we love good food but aren’t reay foodies) but as this wasn’t an option due to the bistro being closed we gave it a go and we’re glad we did as it was fantastic. We ended up having a main course and dessert each but this was accompanied by an amous bouche (thinks that’s how you spell it!), a huge hunk of bread and a pallet cleanser between courses, the wine list is extensive and way over my head but we managed to find a lovely bottle of Puilly fuilles to suit our taste and budget!! I should also mention that the restaurant terrace is beautiful especially when the sun go s down and the lights are on. Anyway, to summarise - great hotel, fabulous staff and restaurant!!"
