"Beautiful, serene location. Views are incredible, pool was wonderful and we ate dinner at the hotel. One of the best tasting foods of our entire 2 week stay in Portugal/Lisbon. Feels like home."

"My friend and I booked the family room because it stated that there was a double bed and a queen bed. It turned out that the double was a pull out couch, which we weren’t expecting. It was also too hot from the heatwave and the AC didn’t reach the upstairs bed. Thankfully, the front desk was understanding and able to get us another room. The place is clean and quiet."

"As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a lovely staff member. She provided us with a map, restaurant recommendations and booked a reservation for us. She then proceeded to help us with our luggage. The view from our room was gorgeous. We forgot to book breakfast for the next morning but the staff was very accommodating and made it happen anyways. Street parking was not a problem and the beach, shops and restaurants were a five minute walk. We felt very safe walking to and from our hotel

"The room and bathroom were excellent and the brkfst was perfect. The air/heat was working well. Everyone was very helpful and ready to offer more. The last morning we were there they laid out an early breakfast even though I think we were the only ones there and were leaving before breakfast would normally have begun. My husband and I would definitely recommend Villa Rio Guest House to friends. "

"While this hotel was not in the city of Lagos, it was an easy drive to the downtown area and waterfront. Set among the old homes in a quaint area. The lady who runs it was wonderful and very helpful with suggestions where to eat and how to get downtown. For a non-discriminatory traveller on a budget. This is a wonderful place to stay."
