This is an old wheat mill, built 1886, and now preserved by the National Park Service. The walk from the parking lot to the mill is super easy. I would also recommend walking up the easy trail to see how the water is diverted to the mill. An interesting engineering feat that is worth the pleasant walk.
Built in the late 1800's and this beauty is still a working grist mill. For a video guide of this popular destination inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, please visit: https://www.hdcarolina.com/episode/mingus-mill
Here you can see the engineering to bring the water to the mill via a canal. Unseen on the right side of the path is a beautiful river with Rapids.
