A peaceful oasis

My wife and I decided to spend Christmas in Merida and had the good luck to choose Dave and Pat’s guest house. The place itself is beautiful, curated with love in all its details. The room was very comfortable, particularly the bed, and the hosts gracious and very nice. The breakfast was excellent, the recommendations very useful, and on a day generally spend with family, we found kindness among new friends. We recommend this place without reservations.

Dave & Patrick are first class hotel operators . The room was spotless clean , nice bathroom all the amenities you need . Breakfast everyday was over the moon , never the same always delicious . The pool is heated and beautiful . The property is stunning . Looking forward to returning .

look no further!!

rooms are hotel-style and seperated from the owners' living space. beautiful property and gracious hosts. city center is walkable but if it's too hot take an uber for lierally USD 2. will 100% stay here again next time we visit Merida. did not want to leave.

Absolute Gem! MUST STAY in Merida!

Let me preface this review by saying that I have traveled to over 30 countries and 48 US States for work in athletics and coaching. I have stayed in many, many hotels! Finding a great place to stay with excellent service has been crucial to a top experience and making work feel easier on the road. From the moment I walked into Ochenta y Dos, I felt absolutely right at home. The owners are incredible people who want to do everything in their power to provide a positive experience for guests. They went well out of their way to take me around town, take me to a local event and dinner, and introduce me to their friends. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and hospitality. The property is relaxing and immaculately clean. They want to share their home with you and their vision of a wonderful place to lay your head in their city. The breakfast is awesome and homemade with care. Everything that is in Merida is a very close taxi/Uber away at a low cost. I cannot recommend Ochenta y Dos enough. It made my work experience in Mexico incredibly enjoyable. All the best to these wonderful people and do yourself a favor and make a reservation!! -NF

Brilliant hosts, friendly, knowledgable about the area and great cooked breakfast.it is a long walk into town but they recommended the Uber service which worked brilliantly and was very cheap. Lovely pool area. Would recommend staying there. It is a little oasis from the heat at the end of the day.

Such a warm welcome from Dave and Patrick this is a short Uber ride from the centre. Lots of useful advice and assistance about the rest of our trip. A fabulous day out going to Celestún and seeing so much more than flamingos. A great mix of guests, we are sad to leave after having had such a good time.

We highly recommend a stay here. The house and rooms are beautiful and the owners are very knowledgeable about the area and very accommodating to the guests. They serve a delicious full breakfast every morning and provide a happy hour each evening.

Het was onze eerste ervaring in een B&B en het was een succes. David & Patrick waren geweldige gastheren, maar zonder opdringend te zijn. De andere gasten waren steeds gezellig en belangstellend. De ontbijten waren heerlijk en door de aanwezigheid van de anderen waren er leuke gesprekken en werden we door de ervaringen van hun trip geïnspireerd. Hetzelfde gold voor de borrel in de avond bij het zwembad. Het was daardoor en veel completer en warmer verblijf voor ons dan in een hotel. Je parkeert voor de deur en de Uber naar het centrum maakt de afstand naar de stad klein en is heel goedkoop. De rust net buiten de drukke stad is top!

2nd stay

Our 2nd stay at this beautiful bnb....Dave and Patrick are welcoming as always. The rooms are well equipped and are set around a pool...there is also a steam room if you want it. Breakfast with other guests is always a treat . Happy hour at 7pm too, what more could you wish for. The local area is interesting with plenty to do..it’s a 4 hour bus ride from Cancun..if you want to see real Mexico, it’s well worth a trip to Merida ...p.s we extended our stay by 2 nights (says it all) D&P we love you and the wee doggies

I’ll start by saying that Dave and Patrick are awesome. Have you ever tried a homemade empanada? I hadn’t before I woke up to Patrick’s delicious empanadas one morning during our stay. Breakfast was delightul every morning- coffee, juice, fresh fruit, eggs, bread, empanadas... the list goes on. The “gay friendly” title was what caught the attention of my girlfriend and I and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to stay somewhere where we could truly relax and be ourselves. The bed was deluxe and we slept wonderfully each night. We would love to stay at Ochenta Y Dós again on our next visit to Mérida and highly recommend especially for lgbt guests looking for a haven to enjoy.

Love Ochenta y Dos B and B. David and Patrick are great hosts! We left as frienda and hope to see them when they visit Southern Arizona. Breakfast was so yummy and presentation was great. The photos do not do it justice. The pool was just what we needed at the end of our very busy days. Restaurant suggestions were spot on and David was quick to use his contacts to help us get a great table and 2 for 1 drinks. We are in Playa del Carmen this morning wishing we were still in Merida Ochenta y Dos.

Dave and Patrick provided a wonderful environment to enjoy a stay in Mérida. The room had a comfortable bed and lovely rain shower. The common areas and pool where inviting and the breakfasts superb. But the best part was the warmth of the hosts, who could not have been more welcoming and gracious. We also went on a tour with Dave to Uxmal, a hacienda and a swim in a cenote, a “not to be missed” experience as he is very knowledgeable of the history of the area. Our stay made us want to go back and do it all again, and we will. Highest recommendation.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!!

Our stay at Ochenta y Dos was incredible. We loved everything about it, so tranquil and relaxing. Our room was very well appointed, especially the outdoor rain shower, how cool is that? The communal areas-pool, rooftop patio, dining room, tv room were all super inviting thanks to the eclectic yet homey design of the casa. Kudos to both of our fantastic hosts, Pat and Dave, who were so so accommodating. We really enjoyed happy hour and the great tapas, getting to know about life in Merida and talking to the other guests. And thank you Norman and the 4 M’s for taking such good care of us. There’s no other place to stay in Merida!

The property is well maintained with nice rooms, spacious bathrooms with lots of light and a large shower. The bed was very comfortable. A slight breeze came though the property so that during my 8 day stay, only the fan was needed to comfortable. The real joy in staying there is the honest and friendly company along with the local travel advice of the owners. This was my first time in Merida, so the recommendations for cultural, historic , entertainment and restaurant activities made my trip so enjoyable. TL-Boston, USA
