"This was truly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Japan. I have visited Japan dozens of times in many cities and towns, and Shiroyama is really so perfect at everything. We got a family room and it was very spacious with the view of Sakurajima volcano. There was so much room spread out between the 4 beds. And the beds were so comfortable. They use such high quality linens and duvets. The bathroom was big enough but not huge, truthfully I almost never showered in the room as the hotel has a very big onsen with an incredible view of Sakurajima which I would recommend for your morning wash. What is unmissable here though, is the breakfast. An awesome array of both Japanese and western items all looking so delectable you wish you could eat it all but there is just so much variety it's impossible. My favourite was the simmered kurobuta with ponzu sauce, it was truly divine. The breakfast was definitely the highlight of staying here. The staff were also great. I contacted the hotel ahead of time to ask if they could book a restaurant for me. Unfortunately it was fully booked but the hotel went ahead and made another reservation for me and this place became the best meal I had on the trip. There is plenty of parking and they have shuttle service into the city too. All in all I could not have had a more perfect stay than at Shiroyama, for it really has everything and more."
