Our room was well maintained upon arrival. AC unit was quite loud and the room smelled of cleaning materials but other than this, no complaints at all.
The room was quite large, which was good. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room and obviously somebody has smoked in it. It needs a smoke detector before it’s rented out again and a good cleaning and deodorizing. It also needs a coffee pot.
I booked this hotel through Expedia when I arrived. The hotel had a notice that I was to check in with a hotel across the street the actual TC hotel was not functioning. There were boarded up rooms. There was dirty laundry on the sidewalk outside the rooms. It looked derelict. I ended up staying at another hotel.
Laziest front desk staff. “My tv remore has dead batteries” A: “just use the push buttons”. I had to pester and give ideas on how to solve the problem. After coming down there on foot, staff begrudgingly went and switched it out for another one. But I had to do all the walking, there was no way they were going to bring it up to me like a, you know, hotel. This was shocking, like I was in another country. Even at small low star hotels and motels I usually get my basic needs met. But this person just wanted to play on the phone and exert the least amount of effort possible.
This staff member also cooked the breakfast food wearing sandals. I have never seen that it my life. What planet am I on? Mind you, it was socks and sandals, but that makes it worse. You can’t trust people who wear socks and sandals. Esspecially to work.
When the food was cooked it was done lazy too… the tator tots were barely cooked and thrown into the buffet tray while soggy. They were mush. As if they had no idea what a tator tot is. They’re supposed to be crispy. They’re not mashed potatos or potato soup.
The laziness continued when I got to my room and saw that the soap dispenser was removed from the shower wall. But they didn’t even bother to remove the extra silicone: just big gobs of dried silicone stock on the wall. Like big dry goops. It would have been a 5 minute job to fix. But they left it and stuck a shampoo bottle on the counter.
Plus an abandoned restaurant filled with junk
