Nice Riad - no doors on ensuit so no privacy :(

We had a good stay here for 1 week in Jan. Riad staff so lovely would do anything and everything to help. Breakfast each morning is fab!! We got an airport transfer through the Riad for €30 return and glad we did as would never have found it ourselves and heard people being taken down random alleyways and told to pay extra or they wouldn’t be taken to their hotel. Room was ok, looked gorgeous but smelt funny, sometimes of sewage both in room and just outside. There was no toilet door it’s just open which really wasn’t great as one of us had to keep waiting outside the room to give the other ‘privacy’. Also the safe didn’t work most of the time meaning we had to get it unlocked twice. As we only had hand luggage suitcases I didn’t bring a hairdryer as one is provided - it was so weak and cold it took 40 mins to dry my hair which was really frustrating and inconvenient. Our main issue was location. It’s in the Medina which is the local bit of town and from the second you arrive, it’s busy and dirty, there are grown men and young children CONSTANTLY hastling you for money, motorbikes are everywhere so your trying to dive out the way and it smells as there is lots of rubbish about and raw meat being sold from stalls etc. It was just too tiring. My honest advice would be don’t stay for more than 1 night. Spend the majority of the time in the new bit of the city where it’s quiet and clean and there are lots of nice restaraunts and come here for 1 night to experience the chaos

Precioso Riad con cena fantastica

El Riad es precioso, cuidan todos los detalles, un oasis de paz y tranquilidad en la medina, y el personal amable y encantador. Se agradece poder cenar en el Riad y disfrutar del romantico entorno con las vistas del patio (nosotros cenamos solos todas las noches y es un lujo). La comida realmente buena y si te quedas varias noches te van preparando distintos platos locales, aunque tambien es muy interesante cenar por la medina y ver la plaza de noche como minimo se debe probar una noche la cena en el Riad. La habitación Safi que tuvimos nosotros decorada con muy buen gusto y la terraza muy agradable para descansar y recargarse al sol. Al estar dentro de la medina ya cuentas que el entorno puede intimidar, sobretodo de noche, pero cuando te aprendes el camino para llegar al Riad te das cuenta que llegas en 10 minutos desde la plaza d las especies. Nuestra experiencia por la zona fue positiva y no tuvimos incidentes, pero tienes que ir decidido y conocer el camino para evitar que te ofrezcan acompañarte y pedirde despues la obligatoria propina.

Un oasis dentro del caos

El hotel (o Riad) es un espacio de calma. Al estar dentro de la Medina está en el centro de un caos (especialmente el sector donde se encuentra el hotel) un caos que sabiéndolo llevar resulta facinante. Encontrar el Hotel puede resultar imposble sin alguien que os acompañe. Recomiendo contratar con ellos un taxi que los recoja en el aeropuerto, de lo contrario empezará mal el paseo. El hotel está impecable en sus instalaciones, Adil, su administrador es muy atento en dar todas las instrucciones necesarias y al igual que todos allí, son muy amables. Salir de noche resulta intimidador, pese que al parecer existe poca delincuencia, hay muchas personas que se ofrecen en guiar (es natural perderse) a cambio de un pago.

An oasis in the middle of the old city.

There cannot be any other Riads in Morroco that offers better value for money than this place. The staff are very helpful,the rooms are clean and tidy and the food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for Lamia and the other staff members. Also free wifi which was great!

Rene værelser, men ingen dør til badeværelset

Overordnet set et rigtig godt ophold på Riad Baba Ali. Stedet var svært at finde. Værelserne er rene. Desværre var der sket en dobbeltbooking, så vi kunne ikke få alle vores overnatninger på stedet. De havde dog sørget for, at vi kom på en anden rigtig skøn Riad og de sørgede også for transporten dertil. Morgenmaden bliver serveret på det tidspunkt, man ønsker. Da vi bookede fik vi gratis middag for 2 med i købet. Dette var personalet ikke klare over. Det endte dog med, at vi fik en lækker tajin-ret. Hotellet arrangerer gruppe-ekskursioner, hvilket vi benyttede også af. Det var en hyggelig tur, men vi ved til en anden gang, at vi ikke ønsker en guide, da man konstant bliver ført igennem små boder for at købe og misser de storslåede natur-områder.

INCONTOURNABLE! AUTHENTIQUE & CHALEUREUX

Nous sommes partis en couple 1 semaine en septembre 2016, nous n’oublierons pas ce lieux magique ! Le personnel était adorable, aux petits soins, Zineb est une cuisinière hors pair : j'ai mangé le meilleur tajine de ma vie entière :p Youssef nous a fait découvrir un Marrakech féerique, nous ne le remercierons jamais assez. Des gens attentionnés, serviables mais aussi dotés de grandes qualités humaines. Une immersion totale dans la medina. En ce qui concerne l'endroit, le Riad est fidèle aux photos, tout simplement somptueux, chaque détail est travaillé, la décoration splendide, les objets d'art jusqu'aux odeurs enivrantes. Nous avons très bien dormis, la literie est bonne et tout est très propre, la piscine bienvenue en revenant d'escapades. Si l'ont devait y trouver un petit inconvénient ce serait la situation, non loin de le place Jemaa El Fna à vol d'oiseau mais un labyrinthe à pieds ! Nous avons pu nous promener et découvrir de nouveaux lieux ... Merci encore à Z&Y, nous recommandons sans hésiter ;)

Très bon rapport qualité prix, juste dommage qu'il faille insister pour que le petit-déjeuner soit servi sur la terrasse. C'est dommage, parce que quand on vient d'Europe en plein mois d'octobre c'est pour profiter un max des derniers rayons de soleil, alors usez et abusez de cette terrasse, nous en avons besoin. Pour le reste si l'on tient compte que l'on est dans un riad et non pas dans un 5 étoiles, tout était très bien, à la hauteur de nos attentes...le personnel était sympathique il a su nous rendre le séjour agréable. Bravo à la cuisinière, tous les soirs sa cuisine a enchanté nos papilles. Et surtout Adil mérite une mention particulière, il a été le remplaçant du gérant pendant nos 3 premiers jours de séjour, nous l'avons trouvé hyper pro, félicitation pour cet accueil.

Fabulous Riad

From the moment we walked in the door this Riad was an oasis of comfort and relaxation. We were welcomed with tea and biscuits while we filled out the obligatory paperwork, then shown to our well furnished, comfortable room. As we were too late to order dinner at the Riad, and unsure of our location to venture out into the streets, the wonderful man (*sorry I didn't catch your name) on evening shift offered to go and get us a pizza! This friendly, accommodating service was evident throughout our stay. The splash pool, then relaxation on the terrace, was welcome after a morning of exploring the nearby markets. The terrace was set up nicely for breakfast and we also enjoyed some evening hours there, as well. Thank you!

Such a peaceful and lovely riad!

Just back from a great stay at the Riad, much like the comments we have nothing but praise for the lovely staff and great hospitality offered. Although the neighbourhood was slightly dodgy and it was very easy to get lost, once you found your way you felt you experienced the real medina and Marrakech. I would certainly recommend getting an airport transfer upon arrival as there was no way we were going to find the Riad on our own. It was an absolutely lovely stay and excellent location for visiting the main square and the souks!

Awesome place to stay

Very clean room, beautiful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 15-20 min walk from the big square. We booked a transfer with the hotel and didn't realize we paid it to the hotel so we paid the driver and the driver realized we had already paid and came and found us in the train station to give us the money we gave him back.

Amazing off the beaten Riad

I truly loved staying at this Riad. It was very quiet, clean, and the staff were very generous. I had to be up in the morning at 7am to head to the desert and the staff made an amazing breakfast for me.

Mycket trevlig, välskött och fräsch riad i bra läge i Medinan. Fantastisk service av Yosef som arbetade under vår vistelse och som hjälpte oss med allt vi önskade. Dock väldigt svår att hitta så ring riaden (eller be taxichauffören göra det) när ni närmar er så möter personalen er vid Baba Ali Moskén. Jämfört med andra områden i Medinan så rör sig här inte så mycket turister vilket gör att de som bor på riaden får se en annan sida av den gamla staden som många missar.

Magnifique riad mais... difficile à trouver

Concernant les points négatifs d'abord, il a été pour nous TRES difficile de trouver le riad. De plus, nous sommes arrivées à 21h et nous n'avons pas pu manger sur place alors que sur la carte il est écrit "service à tout heure".... Pour les points positifs, le riad est vraiment magnifique et très bien entretenu. Le petit déjeuner est excellent. Merci à Youssef pour sa gentillesse et sa bienveillance.

Superb riad

We stayed in about seven hotels during our stay in Morocco, this was by far the nicest and also served the best food we had during our whole trip. Very nice house and spacious rooms. Almost impossible to find the riad on your own, but taxi drivers could call the manager and he will meet you at the taxi.
