Beautiful location, disappointing experience
Sa Vall is in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Our room, Boal 1, was spacious, clean and had basic amenities. The two adorable cats and the starry skies were definite highlights.
Unfortunately, this was overshadowed by a very stressful check-in and the way we were treated by the owner.
We spent almost two hours trying to access our room due to a non-working code and unclear instructions. There was no clear information about our room, no Wi-Fi details and no one available to help. With no mobile reception, we had to drive back to Manacor for internet access. A map showing room names and numbers, plus visible Wi-Fi information, would be a simple but important improvement.
The owner's response was particularly disappointing. Instead of understanding the situation, we were blamed for not following messages, despite having provided our details well in advance. The responsibility was subsequently shifted to a possible app error, Expedia and us. We found the communication defensive and at times rude. We were also told this was a one-time incident, although we heard other guests complaining about stressful arrivals too.
The mattress had a significant dip, making sleeping uncomfortable. The pool contained leaves and dead centipedes and, as far as we noticed, was not cleaned during our stay.
Sa Vall has great potential, but the check-in process, maintenance and guest communication need significant improvement.
