"Amazing old building, wonky floors everywhere, proper faded Victorian grandeur, however... The room was roasting, even with a fan and the pillows were hideous, like trying to sleep with your head on a rock, after one night and stiff neck and shoulders in the morning I went to Poundland and bought 2 pillows so I could get some sleep."
"The staff were extremely helpful and the facilities were excellent.
Charlie and his colleagues helped us out with a number of things and nothing was too much trouble.
A greater choice of pillows would be good as we found the ones provided were not comfortable ."
"I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was very quiet and peaceful and enjoyed sitting outside at the rear. There's no problem parking. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The only criticism I have is, about the shower room. It needs something to put your toiletries on. There is a small glass shelf above the wash basin, but that is taken up by the complimentary toiletries and 2 glasses. Even without them it's only a small shelf. I had to put my toilet bag on the floor.
The breakfast was enjoyable. Not a large buffet, but it was sufficient. The full breakfast was very nice. I would stay again."
"We were able to get into our room early which was a bonus. Room itself was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was nice and shower was great. We opted for the included breakfast option which was really good. Hot and cold items and lots of selection. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. We were able to walk to almost every place we wanted. It is also on the City Sightseeing red bus route (between stops 5 and 6) which we took advantage of. Also it was only a 15(ish) minute walk to the train station. Would recommend and definitely stay again."
"Excellent stay at this hotel (2 nights in July).
We were especially grateful for the aircon which is far from standard in UK hotels.
Everything was of standard you would expect from a property like this.
Staff were impressive and the room spacious, tasteful and clean.
Will be back on our next visit to the city."
