Superb hotel with wonderful pool and staff

A wonderful hotel with friendly staff and fantastic views over Lucca. The room and bathroom were amazing, really spacious and thoughtfully laid out. The pool was great and we thoroughly enjoyed both meals at the hotel. Breakfast was also great, the fruit in particular very good. We did wish for more of a bar area - there is only a sitting room or part of the restaurant to do so - but the extremely helpful and pleasant hotel staff were on hand to place drink orders when required. Overall a fantastic hotel.

The property is so beautiful and the surroundings as well. The countryside is stunning and the staff was very welcoming (Michela was extremely helpful). The room was exactly like on the pictures , very spacious with great views. Would definitely come back and recommend Villa Casanova! The only con we would say was the restaurant - we were a bit disappointed by the pasta we ordered.

Fabulous location 15 mins from Lucca by car. Very peaceful. Only sounds were from the birds. Great room with views and fab bathroom. Lovely breakfast on the balcony. Excellent staff.

The staff was superb, helpful, friendly and accommodating. The grounds are very pleasant, and we were even able to take advantage of the tennis court (racquets and balls available for borrowing). Pool was refreshing. Our deluxe suite with valley view was incredibly spacious. Our only comment was the room furnishings felt a bit spartan (but to be honest, I probably fixate on these things more than your average guest.) The town of Lucca was 20 minutes away, Pisa 30 minutes, wineries 15 minutes. It was an excellent base for exploring the area, and an all-around splendid stay.

Air conditioning does not work effectively and room gets quite warm. You can’t open the windows as dozens of flies enter. When we arrived there were dozens of flies in our room and throughout the hotel. Very off putting. They charge 2.5 euros for water and a one towel limit. It’s a 3 star at best.
