"One night stay. Very friendly staff. Lovely village location with nice view of the Wye valley hillsides. Very reasonable pub standard evening meal, breakfast was spot on. The room was clean and comfortable with all the bits you would expect, kettle with tea and coffee, a nice bottle of sparkling water, TV, good quality soap and shower gel etc. Great value for a very reasonable price. Add in that they served a well kept pint of Tribute Ale."

"The room and the site was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly. The food was... nice presented, but... could be better (yes, I know, this is a very subjective thing). The room was spacious and cosy. I liked the size of the bathtub. The swimming pool is large, but... not enough places to place your towel. Extra slim benches placed next to the wall would improve the experience a lot. There is not timer in the sauna and neither on the wall in front of the sauna (to can watch it from inside)."

"Outstanding staff with great personalities throughout the hotel. Willing to help and made our stay extremely enjoyable. Collectively, probably the best hotel staff I have had the pleasure to meet. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had all the facilities you could need. Had a lovely swim and used the steam room, that was enjoyable. Enjoyed our 2 course meal and after dinner drinks. The only downside is the continuation of the franchise to charge for parking. The room was well presented, clean and comfortable. Have stayed in its sister hotel in Wolvercote and this was the reason I booked for our group of 4, as that was a great experience also. I recommend both hotels and woukd definitely stay again."

"WOW what a fabulous hotel! We had a lovely welcome at reception, our room was bigger than expected for a 'cosy' room. It was lovely and clean and although there was no aircon a substantial fan had been provided. The bed was very comfy. Bathroom was spacious, fluffy towels and toiletries which smelled gorgeous. We had supper and drinks on the terrace but I sent mine back as the chicken was very dry, there was no problem and when a fresh meal was served it was delicious. Breakfast was the usual buffet of cereals, pastries or cooked options. It wasn't the best, bacon was hard, eggs didn't have a runny yolk, mushrooms weren't fresh. For an extra charge there were a few other options but no poached eggs or omelette. The staff were very helpful and happy to do so. All in all a lovely stay wish I could have stayed longer so we could enjoy the beautiful garden walks."

"We spent 5 nights walking in the countryside. Breakfast and dinner were leisurely, and the menu had healthy offerings, in addition to traditional fare. The restaurant was never too crowded. Our room was not air-conditioned, and we were there during a heat wave. Luckily, it cooled off every night, and we could leave the very large windows wide open. It was quiet outside at night. There was a constant cool breeze, which made it very comfortable despite the heat of the day. The beds were very comfortable. The shower could use a renovation, but everything else was spotless and well kept. Most importantly, the employees were all so kind and helpful and truly went out of their way to make us feel at home."
