Lisbon Calling is a beautiful, unique property and we enjoyed our stay in a large 2 bdroom with private bath and an upstairs loft with a second bed. The only issue is that there’s no lobby and nobody is there all the time, so it was difficult to make arrangements when my luggage was delayed. Luckily, the cleaning lady was there until 3PM and allowed the airport staff entry to drop my bag. If the timing had been after 3, I would not have received my bag and would have had to go to the airport. I hope to do carry on from now on!

It's in a great location not far from Cais do Sodre station, by Pink Street and the Timeout Market, within walking distance of most of the touristy stuff in Lisbon. The place itself, it's in an old building but it is well maintained and well kept.

Great hotel

Lovely room, very quiet, but hotel was close to the metro, so ideal for travel further afield or coming/going to/from airport. Shared kitchen was well equiped. Vera, the owner, was very helpful and suggested places to see etc. Her English was very good. I definitely recommend the hotel. The rooms were nicely quirky, good to have something a bit different

Everything was great, it was retro, felt safe, good security, bed was so comfortable. So close to the train and bus tour. We had a private bathroom…. It was so cool with a working disco ball! The only thing I would change is the chair, it wasn’t real sturdy!

Our stay was great! Good location near a lot of tourist spots, bars and restaurants. Loved the unique decor of the place. The only weird part was the room flyer said there was breakfast provided but there was only coffee. This was not a big deal but perhaps the flyer could be updated if there is no breakfast anymore. :)

Really Nice right in the main area. We were in fresco's so massive room with a equally large onsuite. Access to a local kitchen/sitting room - really nice. really nice original features in the rooms. quirky deacor. Yes its on the third floor so if heavy bags - just take your time - its not a sprint. We personally didnt find it noisy but do get some comments on it - with windows open you got the city - which i liked. if closed you didnt hear much really. no tv in rooms which again - to me is a plus. In the kitchen there is space fopr each room to store food etc and also a marked shelf in the fridge. Susana is super helpful as well. will definately stay here again - it was a steal really

Perfect for 2 days in Central Lisbon. It’s very convenient for metro and bus. The room was very clean and had a nice view. We enjoyed the breakfast of bread, jams, cheese, muesli, yogurt, and orange juice - it was a bit confusing the first day the food was not portioned out, but the second day it was designated per room which we preferred and got more to eat. We shared a bathroom with 3 other rooms and only had to wait briefly. Overall this is a very nice guesthouse and we would stay again!

Very nice and clean property, but the area around the property is VERY NOISY specifically at night. There is no air conditioning, but you can request a fan. There is an elevator, but to get to the elevator you do need to go up some stairs. The host very friendly.

Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) enjoyed calling Lisbon Calling home while in Lisbon for 4 nights in March 2026. I didn't realize this was a hostel set up with shared common spaces until I walked in. Was a bit nervous of how this would work for my family. We stayed in the spacious Blue Room. We had a very nice and spacious bathroom (2 shower stalls, 2 toilets, 1 shower) that was located in the shared area with a key we could use to lock up. There is a fridge and pantry with shelves allocated to each room. The kitchen and the common areas are very quirky with lots of personality. My kids loved sharing the platform bed and it provided us some semi-privacy after weeks of traveling together. The Blue Room has a big window that faces the road - it's fun to look down at the people in the street and plaza. I was concerned with the street noise but closing the window and huge wooden shutters was very effective at sealing out the noise. Con was that it became a tad too warm at night. I would imagine this could be a big challenge in the summer as there is no AC but nights in March were cool enough to make this manageable. It would be great to have access to the washing machine but it was explained that there is no space for a dryer and the clothesline is only accessible via a guest room so can't be used by guests. Loved the staff! The location can't be beat! So many restaurants and cafes, plus you're close to Chiado, Pink Street, Praca do Commercio etc. We walked everywhere!

This is a good hostel, however the check in process was complicated. There is no front desk or anyone working in the actual building that can help you check in, and they text you the access instructions via WhatsApp without informing you that you need to get that app. Therefore, make sure you get WhatsApp several days before arriving and make sure that you have the building/ room access codes before you get there! Additionally, there is a Lisbon Calling hotel in same building just one floor down, so make sure you book which one you want as it can be kind of confusing. Otherwise, it is a good hostel in a good location.

It's a fun property and with a unique decor and nice big rooms with tall ceilings and lots of space. The kitchen is really usable with pots and pans and everything you need. The staff is good. Not always super helpful with tips and things for Lisbon- they seemed short on time and not always willing to offer up suggestions when asked. Otherwise everthing was great.

I booked for the location and kitchen access and the unique decor, and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and the unexpected lovely view of the church and open square out my large windows. This is a quirky little find, and if you're ok sharing a bathroom, it's a solid find for a good value in a convenient neighborhood. I also loved how high the ceilings were and how much natural light it received in the day. The church lit up at night was another spectacular view right out the window. Lovely hosts. I'd recommend and potentially return myself!
