"The location was in within the walls of the old town palace. The rooms were very clean and modern.
We could walk easily to excellent restaurants within minutes.
We did have a problem gaining access to the prpperty in the there was no on-sight staff. And we had to enlist the help of a shop owner to call the property manager to come get us to take us to the facility and give us keys, etc. It would help to have information provided a day prior to our stay - such as access codes and...

"There are not many, if any, places in the world where you can stay in a hotel, built into a Roman palace constructed in 305 AD. This is a UNESCO certified sight. This alone makes it a bucket list hotel.
The staff were unbelievably friendly, welcoming, never said no to any requests. Eleven rooms total, so you are just a number here. You will be Treated liked royalty.
They even have a licensed guide on staff that you can hire when he finishes his shift. His name is Tonchi, and he can give you...
"Golden Gate was perfect for us - 2 women traveling together. There were 2 comfortable beds, fridge, AC, shower, coffee. Seemed to be recently remodeled. Easy access to Split beaches and sites!"
"Good stadard hotel, clean and comfortable. Not quite yet a luxury hotel but everything is good. Location is great, just a few minute walk to the old town and beach front. Nice breakfast with generous varieties. Services is above average :)"
