Shoutout to Margaux in the dining room-a wonderful young woman, and also to the staff who checked us out who went out of their way to correct a billing error as we were about to drive away to the Lyon airport. "The hotel was not as advertised on the hotels.com website. Did not know there would be a self check-in with no idea what to do upon arrival. Fortunately, there were people coming out of the hotel and this enabled us to get into the locked lobby. Otherwise, we would have been left stranded outside with no communication or direction. The reported instructions for how to access this hotel came 90 minutes after we were already heading up to our rooms. As we stood in the lobby trying to figure out how to check in with no staff, it became very frustrating. When we reached someone on the lobby desk phone, we were then put on hold for 25 minutes. This caused more frustration. Had we known this was an unstaffed hotel, we would have chosen some other location. Fortunately, for others who were also having the same experience and didn't know how to access an unstaffed hotel, we were also coming out of the lobby, and kindly let them in so they could go through the experience we just had. You even had to make your own room key. Rooms were good, but overall, not a good experience after a day of traveling."
