"We spent a night at the Wheatsheaf, to break the long drive from Scotland to Berkshire. Our room, although not huge, was clean, with crisp, white bed linen on a very comfy bed, and with lovely views of the pretty village church. Although warned about the frequent bell ringing, it did not disturb us in any way. Nice, white towels were provided in the shower room. Lucy and her team couldn't have been more welcoming, efficient, and helpful. It was convenient to be able to enjoy our evening...
"Overall very good experience - the hotel, the rooms, cleanliness, staff, value for money, check in, check out, standard of rooms and facilities - All excellent. Except that there is cow dung smell when you open windows because of the farms and animals in the nearby houses, sheds etc. I understand its not related to hotel, but just rural locality. So i would still rate the hotel and stay as excellent."

They really struggled at breakfast with a coach party all coming down to eat at the same time and only two waitresses and one chef to handle everything. "Stayed here for one night in a multiple beds room. Room was spacious and had all we needed. I would definitely recommend opting for the lake view rooms as the view is great! Both members of staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again."
