"Vilalara Grand Hotel Algarve was one of our favorite hotels we've stayed at. The hotel was very clean and the staff were so kind in all ways. It was my husbands birthday on the stay and they surprised him with champagne and dessert. Truly incredible service and beautiful place to stay while you are on vacation in Algarve."

"We completed the Fisherman’s Trail and wanted to find a nice place to chill and relax for a few days before heading to Germany for a family wedding. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the pool area was so relaxing with great views. We were able to easily get a boat to the Benigal caves. "I stayed there for 8 days. The food was disappointing because there was no sense of Portugal. What helped was different Themes every night, so could try some food of different countries. Due to additional restaurants or rooftop bar, before booking it is highly recommended to check the terms, I found out on arrival that I have only 1 Asian restaurant included that I can have a dinner once during my stay and no rooftop bar because my package is "only all inclusive". "Got upgraded to the 2 bedroom apartment with garden view, very quiet and great to relax, breakfast and dinner were superb. We both had a massage at the spa that was very relaxing and enjoyable. A hire car would be recommended to take advantage of the surrounding area."

Initial corner suite smelled strongly of damp, faced the staff cleaning buggy parking and had issues with cockroaches. While staff facilitated a room change, management offered zero compensation/upgrades: base service recovery for a serious issue. "Great pool, friendly staff, and nice gym. The location was perfect, 5-15 min away from anything you would like to do (by car). Breakfast was great, I would not recommend eating lunch or dinner though, over priced and lacks flavor, plenty of better options in the local area."
