I came to Sao Miguel with my parents who are both in their mid-70’s. Prior to arriving I had requested an adjoining room. We were not able to get in on arrival but hotel staff worked quickly and deligently to get us adjoining rooms the very next day! Staff were extremely helpful, friendly, welcoming, pleasant, accommodating and overall just very genuine and nice! We felt recognized and catered too and we really do appreciate that - especially when traveling with older parents! Parking is free, the area is very safe. Super market close by however the two onsite restaurants are great eats as well! Definitely take advantage of the SPA for half a day of relaxation after all the exploring. The hotel is situated right off of the main highway which is ideal if you want to explore the island (which you obviously should). We went into Ponta Del Garda numerous times for dinner and it’s only a 12 min drive away! I would choose this hotel again in a heart beat when I come back! Big shout out and thanks to Christina and Nicole who took care of us and our requests! There was a female bartender who was super nice as well but I forget her name. See you again!

We were very happy with the overall quaiity of service and hotel amenities at Double Tree by Hilton Lagoa Azores. The hotel is located in a very quiet area, and was the ideal home base for us. It is the ideal location in the suburbs, and it is located across a private hospital. We felt very safe walking around the neighborhood. In addition, the hotel is only a 10-15 minute drive from the airport and Ponta Delgada. We also liked that it is nearby a grocery store and walking distance to restaurants. The hotel is gorgeous - beautifully decorated, very clean, and well built. Our room was very quiet and clean. When we needed extra supplies, we would request it as needed and the staff was always professional and eficent with delivery. Our bed was extremely comfortable which allowed us to have a restful sleep every night. Our room had a partial view of the ocean and mountains which we truly enjoyed admiring from the balcony. Every morning, we were treated to a full buffet breakfast with a wide variety of selection. The hotel staff (front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance) were amazing - they were professional, helpful, kind and accommodating. This is one of the best hotels have we have stayed in as a family based on the reasons mentioned above, and we would highly recommend this hotel to others travelling to the Azores. A true gem in Lagoa!
