"I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay at the Costarena Beach Hotel. The staff was absolutely wonderful and always responded kindly to my requests and needs. My taxi back to the bus to transport to the airport was very late and I was concerned I could not get there in time, but my wonderful friend at the desk called another and made sure I arrived on time. "Balcones del Caribe is a beautiful spot with an excellent location and easy access to the beach. The complex feels very safe, and the staff were always helpful when we needed general information. My only concerns were about the condition of the village: the back door didn’t have a proper lock, the bathroom door wasn’t closing well, and the safe box wasn’t working during our stay. Overall, it’s a lovely place with great potential—just needs a bit more attention to maintenance."

"The apartments are spacious and clean, the balcony/terrace has ample space. The pool is ok and decent size but the jacuzzi was a plus for me because the weather wasn’t the hottest at the time of my travel. The jacuzzi doesn’t get as hot as what I would be accustomed to, but none the less it was a perk. The beachfront view is amazing! "This property is in extremely poor condition. The light switches and bulbs are not working. The windows have difficulty closing. The doors have difficulty locking, and the safes are not working. The property needs a major renovation. "

"The hotel has the potential to be a best in class place. The infrastructure is there but staff should be better trained. There was no water from 3-5 PM in our rooms for 2 days and the person checking us in AT 3:00 should have informed us of that. Instead there is a little note on the table easily missed and we didn’t see until we tried to use the restroom in the room.
