Wonderful, friendly hosts with an exquisite property. If you are lucky, you'll get to meet their dog, Polka, who was so much fun to play with and gave us a tour of the grounds around the chateau.

Like a fairy tale

One of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. The castle itself and its history are unique. Make sure you spend time looking at the amazing details, inside and outside the castle. We were treated more like family than guests, including making sure our dietary needs were met. We took long walks every day in the immense park, sometimes accompanied by the very friendly dog, Polka. There was not a single false note in our three days stay. We only regret we could not stay longer.

We cannot recommend enough staying at Chateau de Prye and it is a once in a lifetime experience. While other chateaux are turned into modern accommodations, this is a very authentic castle with the owners, managing the place. They are the friendliest and most helpful people we have encountered and cannot wait to be back.

Schlafen wie die Könige

Der Aufenthalt in diesem Schloss ist ein Erlebnis. Beinahe alles ist echt alt und authentisch, man fühlt sich in eine andere Zeit zurück versetzt. Wie die damaligen Könige... Hirsche und Wildschweine im riesigen Schlosspark, einfach toll. Das bedeutet aber auch, dass man nicht ein neuwertiges Luxusbad erwarten darf. Hat uns nicht gestört. Sehr nette Gastgeber.

Owner was very friendly, spoke english well. You could wander the chateau and the stables at your leisure. Well appointed with historical artifacts for an authentic experience. Breakfast was good.

The property is magnificent. The host and hostess were very helpful and provided entertainment and a dinner at reasonable cost. Nice place, nice people. Amazing building and also wildlife, otters, deer fish and boar.

Unique experience! If you have the chance, go there. A family home for 9 generations open to the public run by the owner family. Lovely host, room historic but comfortable bed. I stay in a environment you only know from museum visits.

Lieu pittoresque et féerique nous avons apprécié se balader dans le parc. La chambre était grande et le lit très confortable. La demeure et le design intérieur à conservé son apparence des siècles passés il ne faut pas s’attendre à beaucoup de modernité mais nous avons passé un agréable séjour.

We loved it! Antoine and Magdalena were incredible. It felt like the castle was our castle for a.day. I have an issue with Expedia.that needs to be resolved. I paid for the room in full when I booked it online on Expedia, but then upon checkout at the castle, we were charged again for the stay. Magdalena said that Expedia would only charge a booking fee. They charged me $147USD and then we were charged 115€ at checkout. Someone owes me a refund...
