I almost never leave reviews, but The Celecton deserves one! The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the facilities were great. The hotel was very clean and the public bath was lovely. I highly recommend! The location is also great and very central. Directly in front of the hotel is a bus stop that will take you almost anywhere you need to go.
Great place and comfy, its very affordable and the rooms has everything that you need, theres some good staff and others that doesn’t like to help foreigners but everything its very self explanatory and thos that doesn’t like to help foreigners they are not even Japanese but the Japanese staff very good and polite.
A week before I left the States for my six-week Asian vacation, my knee gave out. It kept me in excruciating pain for my week in Bangkok and a week in Manila. Since I still could not walk when I got to Japan, I turned my three days in Kyoto into five days because The Celecton was such a great hotel at a decent price—located near a shopping street with nice restaurants, and a Lawson and a 7-11 nearby. A free dinner is provided each night, and there are public bathhouses for both men and women.
The front desk staff is very helpful, really care about my concern. I am so grateful and will definitely stay again when return to Osaka in the future.

Great hotel to stay in. Right in front of a bus stop connecting directly to Kyoto Station. Several stores nearby and even a shopping street away from tourists.
Decent place to keep your things while you visit Kyoto. Close to Nijō Castle and other sites. Buses run conveniently and you’re close to Ōmiya subway station. Free curry and rice in the evening, can’t go wrong. Food shopping is also close if you’re keeping food in your room.
The facilities are good in condition. The room is clean. Overall is satisfactory and I will definitely choose this hotel again next time.

Good hotel with nice staff
Was there for one night - staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean. The only issue I would mention is that the only window was in the bathroom, not the room itself (as someone who prefers to sleep with the window open that was not ideal)
Easy check in. Basic but clean room. Wi-Fi was excellent and availability of coffee and hot water in reception was a big plus. Close to bus stop to easily get around Kyoto. 2 supermarkets nearby.
I added two days in Kyoto that were going to be spent looking at Mount Fuji. The rooms are small but well laid out to maximize the space. There is a modern feel to the room and common space.
The communal baths (male and female) were nice as well as the coin laundry. The inexpensive breakfast and free dinner were simple, but filling. The staff was first rate, polite, and professional.
The only negative point was there was not an English language television channel. A world wide news channel would have been great.
I loved this spot. Right around the corner is a market alleyway for all your shopping and restaurant needs. Also an easy 13 minute walk to the Nijo station. It made it easy for travel. Another 15 minute walk in the other direction is nishi market place. You can pick any restaurant and not go wrong.
Good stay, small room but it was very clean and quiet. They do not help ship your luggage to your next hotel but the hotel is really close to a Lawsons and 7/11 convenient store and they ship luggage so it worked out.
The beds were a little firm for many Americans' I would think. Temp control was good There was a narrow desk to use for work. Room amenities were plentiful on the ground floor. They had a pant/shirt and slippers available and a shower/toilet in separate area in the room, and communal bath downstairs, which I did not use. I did not try the breakfast but it was approx 3 dollars, so very reasonable. It's 5 blocks from Nijo castle, so in a good location. many sights within 220 yen train distance, but I walked 20 minutes to several temples and the market streets, and there's a bus stop just outside. many markets, restaraunts nearby.
Pros:
1. The location was a bit away from the busy center area of Kyoto, but I prefer it that way. It was a bit more quiet. The area itself was nice as well, and I felt safe walking around. It is also located next to a Kyoto City Bus stop, so that was super convenient.
2. Staff: They were very kind and did their best to help out as much as possible.
3. Buffet: It was Japanese local cuisine, and it was good.
4. Room: it was nice and clean, and served for its intended purpose.
5. Other amenities: I liked how there was an open bath offered, but I wasn't able to utilized it due to my schedule but I did see other patrons enjoyed the bath.
Cons:
Not much I could remember
Overall, it was a nice hotel!
Check in was quick and efficient, thanks to the staff on duty. He spoke very good English and was very professional. We asked him if there were available rooms in case we wanted to stay a day or 2 extra and he advised us to check online because it might be cheaper. We did end up extending our stay, thru Expedia, so we went to the front desk the next day to see what needed to be done with the hotel for extending our stay. The staff, who was not Japanese, was not very helpful and he told us everything was ok. I asked him where the nearest train station was and he said he didn’t know. Good thing we checked about our extension the next day. The gentleman, who was there when we checked in, was working. He checked his system and no, it was not ok. He had to go into their system to make the update. We did not have to check out of our room, we were able to keep the same room and stay in it. This hotel is definitely a budget hotel! No frill. There is an onsen on property but we didn’t utilize it. There is also one washer and one dryer available. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and main attractions and about 1 minute walk to the bus stop and convenience stores. It is in a relatively safe neighborhood. Would I stay at this hotel again? Probably not but it is a decent hotel
Stayed in this room for approximately 8 days. The place was quiet and clean. Amenities were provided. However in the 8 days I stayed my room was never cleaned. I dont know if this is Japanese custom but I found it odd. Good hotel!
