We had a wonderful stay at The Hive Hotel in Lamai the resort is lovely and very clean, the rooms are very clean and spacious, breakfast is excellent you also have an egg option just request with your server. Pool is situated overlooking the beach with very comfortable beds. The staff are fantastic and a credit to the hotel from reception to maids and restaurant pool staff all courteous and tentative to your needs. We would definitely stay here again.

We started with just a 1 day reservation to check out the area and facilities it was important we had good wifi and air conditioning after our first night we decided to stay here for the rest of our time and booked with the front desk the place has the best beach and the only one where there is a completely roped of area to swim in the ocean the beach chairs and umbrellas were many and the breakfast was amazing. Excellent value for the money

Had a preťty good time at The Hive. Unfortunately I got a room close to the adjacent road and one of the venues across the road played loud, bass-heavy music which meant I got to listen to the bass until the small hours of the night. The bed was quite hard, a bit too hard for my liking. But the room was spacious and with good amenities. Breakfast was good but I would've liked a couple more bread options and some cheese and/or ham. The staff was very quick to remove dishes which unfortunately sometimes led to the table looking empty while you were getting a second portion or a coffee and you can have the risk of someone taking your spot (happened twice) Beach and pool was good and there were plenty of lounge chairs reserved for hotel guests only. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.

We have had amazing time while staying at The Hive in Lamai Beach. Could the rooms (especially the bathroom) do with a refresh? Probably, but the beautiful staff and wonderful location. The staff, from reception, to restaurant, to housekeeping and grounds could not be more welcoming or friendly. I look forward to returning sometime

Great stay but room for improvement

Positives: Great stay in a villa. Very close to the pool & view of Gulf of Thailand. Breakfast was very good, service was excellent. Location is great away from the party strip. Negatives: should be no shirt, no shoes, no service in restaurant; no dogs in restaurant; 1 out of 2 coffee machines worked; after 30 mins belongings should be removed from pool loungers as people reserve then leave; as smoking of all types is permitted there should be a designated smoking area.

Great breakfast! Excellent service, the lady at the reception area scheduled transportation from the Hotel to our next place (another island/hotel). Our room/cabin was very quiet and super close to the pool and beach. They cleaned the room daily and always left water bottles for us. They had plenty of chaise longues and towels in the pool/beach area. Definitely will be back.

The photos looked a lot better than the current conditions of the property. There were LOTS of mosquitoes. This could perhaps be an acceptable three-star property but we didn’t play attention to the star rating when booking it (our fault). The staff was genuinely kind and professional. We left after one night. We didn’t get a partial refund, but thank goodness we moved. I can’t imagine staying five more nights. Again, it could be an acceptable three-star hotel, but it wasn’t for us.

Very nice hotel. Villas and grounds could use a little updating. The hotel is convenient to town, and there are tons of bars, restaurants, massage parlors, and shopping options all within short, easy walking distance. Hotel is right on the beach, and the pool overlooks the beach as well.

The hotel is on a lovely beach, a short walk to restaurants and bars in a quiet location, staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent for me as I like an English breakfast followed with a bowl of yoghurt fresh fruit, nuts/ seeds after a fresh cup of coffee from the coffee machine. The hotel restaurant in on the beach front a plus. The rooms are a few years old, but are nice with a comfortable bed and a balcony overlooking the green walkways which connects the hotel complex. Would I stay here again, yes it gets my approval. The only problem was the shower water pressure was a bit erratic. I had a fantastic holiday with my son here who also loved it.

Lovely resort, with bar, pool right on the beach. V central to bars and restaurants. Splurge for the bungalows or ask for a room not at the rear... further from the streets late bar noise. Lovely breakfast and lunches. V reasonable prices for all food and bar too.

The Hive - Best Value

What a great stay at The Hive. This is a wonderful boutique style hotel near the water with easy access to town. Rooms are bungalow style with AC. Super clean with great staff all around. Lots of chairs around to pool so no need to get up at 6 to throw a towel on a chair. Breakfast is great and lots of coffee options. Ive already recommended to friends and family who are now booked for March.

Its pretty central to the nightlife, which makes it fairly noisy, though convenient. I never had any hot water at the shower throughout my stay, fortunately it is pretty warm weather-wise, so it wasnt too unpleasant to have a cool/cold shower and then warm up in the ambient heat.
