"The staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. The food was very good. The hotel is very comfortable, well furnished and very quiet being a little remote. No outside noise and very little noise inside the hotel even with coach parties staying over. Looking forward to my next visit."

The pub itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, it is cosy and inviting and located in a lovely spot by the stream.Although the actual car park itself was small this was no problem as we parked literally a couple of minutes away on the lane, perfect as it allowed the opportunity to see a tiny red squirrel busy in a nearby tree. Pillows very hard (but that is preference). Majority of staff pleasant. Food excellent. SPA a bit tired in places but thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and the massage was lovely. Would book again. "

"We had a wonderful stay at Appleby Castle. We were made so welcome by hosts Sally and Peter. The room was adequate for a castle. Dinner was superb, a of mix of prawn and salmon starter followed by main course of garlic chicken. The setting was the in the beautiful dining room. "The Inn is perfectly located for enjoying Kirkby Stephen. The staff - especially Jacqui - is super helpful and kind. Really enjoyed our brief time there.
