The Yama Hotel is located not far from hustle bustle tourist area however it is far enough to be quiet and relaxing as it is tucked in the mountain side. We enjoyed 7 nights and 8 days, staff was extremely nice and helpful, especially Spy, Tong, Khom and Nate, very polite and helpful. We enjoyed the fully airconditioning, clean room, house kept every day - cleaner cleaned every day very good. Then we enjoyed swimming in their pool every night, relaxing in the spa as well as having cocktails. They have happy hour for cocktails and juices oh boy they were delicious. Our room had 180 degree mountain view and ocean view- although it faces highway, we loved the room because of the amazing view and we could watch what is happening on the street at the same time. If I ever go to Thailand we will only be staying at Yama hotel. It really impressed us, thank you to everyone who works at Yama.

Pour les amateurs de calme
Un peu excentré de kata beach et son agitation nocturne. Havre de paix. Chambre spacieuse. Proprete ok. Location scooter a 250 baths par jour indispensable pour autonomie car hotel un peu a l'écart et pas de passage taxi ou tuk tuk devant. Possibilite de commander par l'hôtel mais prix different. Nous n'avons pas testé le service de navette pour kata beach qui se trouve à 5 minutes en scooter.

I liked how spacious the rooms were. The front desk was very friendly. The buffet was not bad either, pretty decent. The pool was a nice feature. the bar was a little pricey. Big down fall was that it was quite the distance from the beach, if you decide to walk it is all uphill. This property can do great if they expand their shuttle bus hours. the first bus is around 845 and last is 430. Kind of sucks. It's a 15 min drive. And taxi is about 400-500baht one way.

I wish there was more frequent shuttle services and also later than 1630 being the last Other places we stayed in Thailand had last shuttle till 920 pm. Especially considering the distance from the beach The soap dispensers in room 406 were rusted and being attached to the wall is not the most convenient. Otherwise the general service was good, pool was clean

The location of the hotel was off the beaten path in Kata first of all and right outside our window was a trash heap that we looked at every morning. It’s impossible to walk from the hotel to anywhere unless you want to get ran over. I definitely will not be staying here ever again. Then we were told by management when we checked in that there was no thermostat and that the temperature for our room was preset, not sure if this is standard for Phuket but this also was an inconvenience.

I booked this hotel because of the high reviews rating, which to my disappointment didn't match the value I was looking for when I reached.. I was confused why it had such high ratings. Then when I wanted to ask for a late checkout, they said they'd only give it to me if I go to the reception and give a 5-star review in front of them, which explained why they have such a false high rating. The staff isn't friendly, the breakfast lacks options for vegetarians and vegans, there's not even water in the lobby, and they would charge you an extra money if you need an ice bucket, which is usually free in other hotels. Also they "forgot" to give me back my deposit when I checked out, then I remembered to remind them last minute, they said if I don't ask for it they don't give it back!! They mention they have a beach shuttle but the timings are bad, only every 2 hours, I ended up taking taxis instead of waiting 2 hours for their shuttle service. The location is inconvenient, it's a dead area, nothing around. I was disappointed and highly don't recommend.

There were hairs in the bathroom from I guess the previous people. Long and dark and those couldn’t have been from myself. There was a very long power outage during our stay and I asked for some type of credit, even a food voucher but they didn’t say this was an option.

This property situated far away from the Kata beach on a mountain. Nothing good to say other than the cleanliness which was great. Breakfast buffet was below average. Shuttle service to the beach was on a back of a Ute through the highway without seat belts which was a scary ride.

The hotel, not resort as listed on Expedia left a lot to be desired. For one, they trade 5 star reviews for free shuttle rides. In the business world, this is called a scam so I would not know why Expedia would continue to subject their users to this type of place considering there are dozens of reviewers in the past making the same statement. It would also be nice if the hotel updated its photos as this place now looks nothing like it used to. I do not recommend this place for anyone as it is very remote and extremely hard to get to the beach from here. It is on the opposite side of the busiest road in the town and the vehicles never stop to let people go by. On top of that, the 2km walk which would normally not be a problem, is not for the out of shape. We are both in shape and we struggled on the way back. The staff is rude. I made my comments on the check in and was subsequently harassed by the owner or manager who kept calling my room and then knocking on our door. I suffered food poisoning in the city and told him to leave me alone but they bothered us for 2 days straight. Very unprofessional. I’ll be contacting Expedia next. Avoid like the plague!

I won a Vip pass to Phi Phi island. When i went to try to use it at from the desk everything was booked for a month. I went anyway but the feeling of winning a free trip to then find out it was useless was terrible
