"Check-in was quick and simple, with directions to room given. The room itself, was very clean and lived up to the executive room type, with lovely decor and furnishings. The amenities were spot on, coffee machine, tea tray with lovely biscuits. Bed was big and very comfy, pillows were great. Breakfast was very tasty with a good selection and tge service was fantastic. Overall a great stay, thanks."

"The room was a little tired but ok for what we paid. We were hoping to get room service when we arrived but that didn’t appear to be a thing since there was no menu (or any other hotel information) in the room. We headed to the restaurant where we were waited on by a lovely young lady (Matilda?) However, the food was not good at all. The menu was very limited and uninspiring. We were served the driest pork belly bites we’ve ever tasted (like they’d been reheated multiple times), brown salad leaves, stale, toasted bread sold as focaccia and it wasn’t cheap. Unfortunately breakfast wasn’t much better with multiple items run out (no sausages and minimal beans) despite it not being busy. When I mentioned this to one of the staff there was no apology, just an acknowledgment (which I believe was acted on but too late for us). I’ve stayed multiple times in another De Vere property which has always been fantastic. This one falls way short of the same standard. It was fine for a basic stop over but nothing more."

"I stay here 3 times a year on business. The staff are friendly and the bar/ restaurant area is pleasant with good food. Unfortunately the rooms themselves are poorly maintained and in need of a lot of TLC. Layouts are quite random too!"

"Great pub, lovely staff, lovely food, amazing clean and comfy room with 4 poster bed. Only slight criticism is food portion size, the full English equivalent was one slice of bacon, one small sausage, one hash brown etc…and dinner was much the same - which was a shame as it tasted so lovely. "

"A disaster from the get go, first there was no one at reception, none of the three numbers displayed on the reception door were answering. After many attempts we managed to get though to someone who literally said he was unable to help us. After half an hour of wait and worry, a young lady passed by and whom we asked for assistance. Thankfully, even though she wasn't a member of staff, she manged to direct us to a room (room17) and provided us with towels. The whole room was dirty and there was an obvious lack of upkeep as there were cobwebs everywhere, the bathroom door would not open nor close hence a lack of privacy. To make matters worse we were rudely awaken at half past midnight, with very heavy banging on the door by the supposed owner who unprofessionally demanded to know who we were and that we were in the wrong room. when nobody was there to reception us in the first place. The second night was not much better, this time there was door banging on next to us round 5am then they proceeded to carry out some works round 6. All in all a terrible experience and we never once ended up seeing a member of staff. I shall be grateful if you could guide us to were we could log in a complaint as I would like a full refund"
