"Lovely big room with ensuite facilites. Very nice crisp white bedding & soft, white towels. Breakfast was good & we had a lovely evening meal on one of the nights. The staff were friendly. Certain parts of the hotel would benefit with a freshen up but I guess that's down to finances and we still had a lovely time. Slightly confused by the breakfast times as they were different to the website which stated Saturday & Sunday breakfast was until 10.00am when it was actually 9.30am. This was our second visit, though it's quite a few years since our last stay, and we would return in the future."

"Stopped over on my way travelling back home. Pub was busy on this Friday night, but staff were on hand to welcome me. Very friendly manner and most helpful. As I arrived a little later than planned, I just made it in time to get my food order in, which again the staff were very helpful to assist. I had their steak and ale pie, which was very good and I would certainly recommend this. I overheard a conversation while eating that the person who cooked the food doesn't like to call himself a chef as he is not professionally trained. Well all I can say is I really enjoyed it (and his breakfast the next morning). My room was spot on. I had driven almost 350 miles that day, so needed a bed that was comfortable and I again I wasn't disappointed. While I could hear the noise from the bar below, that was fine. After all its a pub and that's why earplugs were invented. I slept really well. All in all, would I stay again? Yes. Would I recommend this to other? Most certainly. Thank you folks at The Countryman's Inn."

The young man at the reception went above and beyond to make sure the issue was sorted. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. Lots in the surrounding area to see and do. Already looking at booking our next stay. Debs"
