Even among the gorgeous beaches of Jervis Bay, this one stands out. Prepare to be astonished by its beautiful sands, officially the whitest in the world.

Jervis Bay is famous for its beaches, and Hyams Beach is one of the most beautiful of these. Despite its loveliness, this peaceful beach is rarely full of people. Spend at least a day exploring this stretch of sand and the many natural attractions in the vicinity

Hyams Beach refers to both the stretch of sand along the coast and the town next to it, a sleepy, charming place that is home to only around 290 people. Visit the town to grab a snack, a cold drink or to find overnight accommodation. The beach itself is fairly undeveloped, meaning its pristine beauty has been left intact. Come here to see for yourself why the sand here holds the Guinness World Record for being the whitest on the planet.

The beach is very family friendly, since its waters are clear and great for paddling and swimming. Let your kids swim or snorkel in this calm part of the ocean and build castles on the clean, safe beach itself. Take plenty of photos of your family against the stunning background offered by this remarkably beautiful location.

Take advantage of the range of lovely trails nearby. Look for the many birds to be seen along the Hyams Beach Trail, which will lead you into Jervis Bay National Park. Its varied land and coastal habitats are home to a wide variety of native species.

Another trail to try is the White Sands Walk. Follow it along not only Hyams Beach but through some of the area’s other most striking white beaches too. Set out from Greenfield Beach, which is next to the town of VincentiaOpens in a new window.

Stay in Hyams Beach itself, or choose the more urban environment of nearby HuskissonOpens in a new window. Or stay in SydneyOpens in a new window and drive. It takes less than 3 hours to reach this record-breaking beach, and it is a journey that is more than worth it.
