"So, a one night stay for Donington Park and it was a head on a pillow. The property is in dire need of an uplift. It felt like I was staying in a care home to be honest. The food in the restaurant was excellent but the atmosphere, oh my days,so quiet and sterile. Get some background music on...... And no air-conditioning."

There are signs but a bit invisible and they could do with more info just after the meeting rooms hall (and the staff know this, they were not at all surprised when I had to ask how to get there twice). "Great pub/hotel/bistro in a beautiful peaceful village. Staff were extremely helpful. We had a wedding with so needed an early check-in and late return. Both were accommodated for. Room was clean, fresh. Continental breakfast was included in price. We also paid extra for cooked b/fast. Very nice freshly cooked, hot, good quality products. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend the Star Inn and stay there again. Or even go for a nice meal. Give it a go ! "

"Room was a generous size, bed really comfy, towels a good size and curtains full length and thick, keeping the light out so enabling us to sleep on in the morning. Room looked a bit tired but there was some redecorating going on in the hotel. Problem with the shower in that water temperature was too hot and couldn't be reduced. "The property is tired and rooms and bathrooms need updating. Beautiful old hotel with history! Staff extremely helpful with a smile. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately the boiler was not working in the main building but the rooms with hot water were too hot in 30+ degree temps, uncomfortable to sleep in, so we were given both rooms, one where it was cool enough to sleep in and the other we can have hot water. Very accommodating! Thank you."

"We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Beeches. We had an evening meal too wgich was excellent. Lots of variety at breakfast - which is self service. Delicious croissants and fresh fruit and yoghurt, cereal too. They have thought carefully about the hear too with a large fan in the room and ice water on arrival."

"It’s basic but it’s clean, bed was good, shower had good pressure and hot water, and my room was quiet. Some blackouts curtains would have been nice but other than that, for the rate, I couldn’t fault it. I am actually booking it again right now."

"I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks with my kids. Traveling from CA. All staff are extremely friendly! Breakfast was great! Wish they had waffles but nonetheless food was good. They have a shell gas station with bfast sandwiches, snacks and amenities across the parking lot. Also a KFC. I would definitely recommend!!"
