"I had a very good overall stay at the Hampton Inn in the Hollywood/Los Angeles area. The price was about average for Hollywood not inexpensive, but reasonable considering the location.
The hotel is in an area that feels more like a studio, business, and warehouse district than the glamorous Hollywood you might picture. Like many parts of Los Angeles, you may also encounter some unhoused people in the surrounding area, but we had no issues during our stay.
One of the coolest surprises was finding out that there was a Sephora studio next door. We actually got to see them doing a little shoot just outside their gates, which was unexpected and pretty cool. There are quite a few studios and businesses around the hotel, so you never know what you might see!
There aren’t a ton of restaurants immediately surrounding the hotel. Nearby you’ll find places like Taco Bell and Winchell’s, as well as an Office Depot. We also tried PAPIS, a small hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant nearby, and the food was delicious. There were also people selling street tacos just down the street to the right of the hotel, and those were delicious too. Sometimes those unexpected little places end up being some of the best food you have on a trip!
If you don’t mind walking, you can actually walk from the hotel to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I wouldn’t call it super close it definitely takes a good brisk walk but we enjoyed walking there and then decided to Uber back."
