"The room was clean and centrally located. Bed was decent, shower pressure was good, and our room had a nice balcony. Host was communicative but signs to the property are very limited at the entrance. It would be easy to miss. Also, in Salerno taxis are a bit hard to come by to grab in the street but the hotel gave us the phone number and the taxi driver was very prompt to pick us up to take us to the train station. (And I know that’s not a hotel issue, but something to be aware of in general)"

"This is not a hotel but a room on the 2nd floor of a building. You have to be buzzed in by the owner. Building is very old. No elevator. 3 euros per person must be left in the morning. Bare necessities."

I knew there was no elevator just wish I would have know that it was on the top floors due to the fact that I have major knee problems, & lugging suitcases up was not fun for my husband. The only way to get up there is to take a cab/uber, escalator or climb up endless stairs. If escalator is not working, you are sol.
