Very traditional pub/b&b needed renovation in areas but added to the charm enjoyed stay and had great nights sleep and the breakfast was good too would stay here again friendly locals and great staff

George and the Dragon is not luxury but it is what you think of an old English Inn. It was comfortable and in a cute little village. We enjoyed our time at the Inn.

We stayed for 4 nights. Price was very reasonable. Excellent location. Nice beer garden. Good breakfast. Staff helpful. Room had been refurbished and was roomy and clean. Restaurant closed Monday and Tuesday. Had an evening meal on the Wednesday but it was dissapointing.

Hotel was great full of character, breakfast was expensive for basic standard breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very large, which was great as I took 3 teens ghost hunting. Very dog friendly

If you want to have the experience of staying in a very old inn, this is for you. It’s seeping with history and you can almost hear the carriages and horses of yesteryear arriving in o get a meal and sleep at the ancient inn. The floors may not be perfectly level, the spirits may walk halls and the old stone shows through in spaces; but this is a stay you will recount to friends and family for years The staff is kind and helpful, the town is sleepy and if you are lucky you’ll meet the local’s dog, Jules. My family all piled into one room and it was so fun. Embrace life and enjoy your stay. If you need the most modern and sterile stay, go to the Hilton (if you can find one).

Handy location on the high street with parking behind. It's a very old building with associated uneven floors and creaky stairs which are part of its charm. I loved its quirkyness and it was nice and clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities. I'd recommend it

The room was very good and comfortable. We had to pay at check in for breakfast, but in the morning there was no one there to cook it or anyone to contact. We are still waiting for a refund.

Quaint hotel. Room very large and adequate. No air con but rooms reasonably cool even though 30⁰ + outside. For the money it was ok but miffed with the hotels.com insurance add on. Tried to cancel in the 14 day cooling off period but pushed from online saying contact cust servs and then cust servs saying do it on line. No resolution made. Ok its only £4 but it still £4 that I should have had refunded. Wont use this site again.

Room very cold, no staff on site overnight, no food available (breakfast or dinner) we only stayed one night instead of two. The email received prior to arriving stated that breakfast and dinner would be available, staff dismissive regarding no food situation.

Als je na een lange reis in de bloedhitte eindelijk aankomt bij een hotel, verwacht je op zijn minst dat je vriendelijk en met aandacht wordt ontvangen. Niet dat er ondertussen druk op de telefoon berichtjes worden getypt. Ik bedoel... wat is nu 5 minuutjes even met onverdeelde aandacht je gasten ontvangen? De kamer was bloedheet, maar daar kan niemand iets aandoen. Het tapijt is goor evenals het hoofdeind van het bed. Badkamer was prima en netjes en ruim, niets op aan te merken.

Staff were polite and curtious. Room was what a pay for, old, clean but curtains where falling down. No food as kitchens closed for January.

Staff member was courteous. Room was OK but shabby. Mouldy shower cubicle and windows. There was no food available, even for breakfast as the dining area was being re-furbished. This was not mentioned in their advert.

Good accommodations to look at

It’s a quaint pub built in the 1700s I believe. The room was nice however there was no water pressure in the shower and the bathroom was oddly put together. It would be a nice pun to eat or drink at, but I wouldn’t recommend staying in a room.

The room we had was a bit tired, and in need of a bit of tlc. We were not advised that we had to order breakfast on the evening , prior to the morning as they would not open the dining room. we arrived back on Sunday evening at 8.30 to find the whole pub closed, we were not advised of the facility's closing hours. We were not advised prior to our stay that there would be a clairvoyancy/ Ghost hunt, evening when the group of people who were doing the Ghost hunt would be running around the hotel screeching and laughing until 2.00am. They then at breakfast, proceeded to moan in the morning that they were tired, well so were we! In the room there was the normal do not disturb/ please make up our room. When we asked for our room to be made up it did not happen, so asked the bar staff for more tea and milk(only). to return to a pile of towels, coffee, milk,sugar, but no tea, on the floor outside our room, novel.

The staff were ok. I only had one interaction with them. There was meant to be someone available from 7am for checkout but it was empty. The room had no noise cancelling at all. The punters downstairs in the pub could be heard loudly and the noise from the main road was loud. The room was ok, though the mattress was hard and lumpy. The sink had a big crack in it. The carpets were creaky too. The pillows even stacked together provided no support. Overall for the price, sleepable but nothing else. I wouldn’t come back.
