The Colorado river runs through this section of the Refuge and the area is called  Topock Canyon. It is only accessible by boat or by plane.

Just north of Lake Havasu City is a scenic spot on the Colorado River known as Topock Gorge. Mountain desert scenery with the riparian vegetation, best seen by kayak or boat.
