"Overall super clean and friendly. Surprise no air con for such a modern property. Couldn’t amend room temperature other than opening the window whilst radiator on, seems a bit of a waste. Breakfast superb! So much choice and top quality. Brasserie closed Sunday nights so had to eat at The Old Boathouse. Not the best - staff amazing, food average at best. Understaffed in kitchen and out front. Our meals were ok, delayed but not too bad but saw two tables send theirs back as they were cold. Given it’s a fair drive or walk to go elsewhere it’s not the best hotel for food after breakfast. Gym OK, have to book and pay for pool so we swerved that. Room large and bed large. Not as the pictures for the bathroom which could have done with a refurb but all clean and serviceable. Would stay again though."

"Staff were lovely and helpful. Facilities fantastic. Room was ok. Did feel that it needed carpet cleaned better, as its a dog friendly room. Which we found did have old dog hair still embedded in carpet fibres. Not disgustingly dirty, but caused alleges with us."

"If hosting an event or wedding this place is probably fine but when you are a tourist it is miles from everything. This hotel is completely rural, you cannot walk to any pubs or restaurants, the town is a 12-15 drive. Staff are great, zero complaints. It is a bar area amd restaurant but the bar lacks charm and atmosphere. Plenty of parking. The rooms are fine but dated and the hotel does not have a lift. If you are planning to tour the general area as a tourist i recommend something closer to town where there is more to do around you"

"It was a wonderful way to have a to have a little bit of luxury for my sisters Birthday. The facilities and staff were wonderful and the food was really scrumptious. "

"After check in, we went to our room (140) which had a double bed in one room and 2 sofa beds in the adjoining room, lots of space for everyone! One of the sofa beds wasn’t made up so I asked reception for help. They quickly came along with bedding and we went for a swim before dinner. Dinner was served in the bar as there were too few guests to use the restaurant. The food was standard hotel price and quality, it filled a hole but wouldn’t be a reason to return. We returned to our room and despite being a bit too hot, we all slept well. We woke in the morning and fitted in another swim before breakfast. Someone had registered for breakfast under our room number - a non resident and his kids freeloading. My daughter began itching her arm but I thought nothing of it. Over the course of the next couple of hours she was itchy all over and when I looked she had red itchy spots all over both arms, her shoulders and back. I emailed the hotel to let them know so they could check the room/sofa bed and bedding but they haven’t replied. We were due to return on our way back home but have managed to cancel this. We are now out of pocket for antihistamine, creams and washing our clothing at 60 degrees but we learnt an important lesson. I have stayed in many hotels and never thought to check for such things. I don’t think I’ll ever sleep anywhere again without a mattress inspection. "
