Though on a main road (A275) it is a quiet, unpretentious and old country pub between a couple of other houses (one a former smithy) with convenient parking and an outside sitting/eating area behind, as well as 'bistro' style eating in the large downstairs bar, with a good selection of beers etc. The room and bathroom were simple and spotless,with fine quality towels and bed linen. "Lovely, cosy, quirky little place in a very quiet part of town. It has everything I needed for my stay. Only stayed 1 night for work purposes but wanted to stay longer. Rod was very welcoming and throughly nice chap."
